Assa (and ele, but trying to be sorta serious), boomkin, arcane mage (and bm, same as ele tho) and shadowpriest survival hunters all cover those buffs with much better damage.
Heck, currently frost mages and destro lock bring more dps to the table and replenishment.

The question shouldn’t be if a raid of all ret paladins can do Hodir HM, but rather if all classes were brought down to ret levels of dps would they be able to complete it with Ulduar level gear?

That’s a lot of different classes for what ret brings by itself. Especially relevant in 10man.
Also, lots of mages will be going fire. They’re free to do this because ret still brings that huge 3% damage buff.

Pretty sure the pathetic I was referring to was the 9,000+ forum posts on a level 10, and seeing like 3,000 of these the past few months regurgitating the same thing every single day.

Certainly, ret is fine in smaller groups precisely cause of that.
Who i post on has little importance. And my number of posts is because i have been on these forums for years.

I also dont try to hide who my main in classic is i have revealed it on request multiple times.
I use this character for the forums because it keeps all my post history, notifications, exc in one spot. And i wont name change or realm change this character and then the forums act like i am an entirely new toon with no post history, miss notifications from replies that it wont notify me of because its still trying to notify the old name, exc.
Lol I love how paladins just automatically call BM a meme spec so they don’t care how it performs meanwhile paladins have 3 completely viable specs that are all regularly bought to raids and paladins are one of the most stacked classes ATM. Paladins are in a better spot than every other class having every spec regularly represented in raids.

We are actually looking for a BM for our raid team, so again, your generalization is false. I’m actually hoping for an Arms warrior (PVE) even though they would roll against me for the same gear.
Ret is fine. Ret will not be rebalanced. Y’all have been begging Blizz since vanilla classic and they haven’t changed it, and they won’t be changing it in the future.
Accept it or reroll.

You are probably the only raid in the world actively seeking a BM hunter. Your raid is never going to have issues bringing a ret paladin if they want to bring a BM hunter, so not sure why you’re so concerned about rets current position. And an arms warrior will almost never be bought along to a raid if a combat rogue is available, they bring nothing that the combat can’t bring apart from a health buff which a lock can bring. Once again, ret in a much better position than both of the specs you mentioned.
Surprisingly, there’s a lack of plate DPS in our guild. I’m the only Ret also atm.
In addition, we did recruit some rogues, but only our guild leader (Assassin) is active and reliable.
I could say why I post here, but you should already know by now, and I’m tired of explaining myself over and over again.

(shrug) I don’t play Hunters. So I don’t know what they bring to the table. Not my decision.
Nevertheless, I wouldn’t turn one down if one came to me.
As for propaganda? Save it. I played Wrath on release back in the day, I know how we play. You can look up my post history if you wish, but I’m done explaining.
You must’ve remembered how ret plays up until 3.3.4 because you seem to of forgotten how it is in 3.3.5 hence the insane amounts of tears coming from all your crying for a buff posts.
It was known what class balance patch we would be using. Knowing what it was like back then for 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 and even war.y 3.3 dont really matter. Knowing what 3.3.5 would be should have told you the state ret paladins would be in.
Heck i chose hunter in vanilla knowing my dps was going to fall off a cliff in icc. Because i knew the value of my utility would would still get me a raid spot. Ret has the utility to have a raid spot, and if you do know how to play ret (as you claim), you know how valuable that utility can be when used right. Which is more than enough reason to bring a good ret paladin. Sure you wont stack rets, but thats not necessarily a bad thing as it does lower your gear competition to some degree (yes i know you compete vs other melee, but at least you are not competing vs 8 warlocks or 9 dk who all have the same bis list). Part of why i am loving hunter even withiut being “the top” damage dealer is because of less gear competition. For my BiS ranged weapon i roll against 1 other person (2 hunters in the raid). Only after him and me have it do the melee in the raid get to roll on it for a stat stick.
