im also trolling myself S3 aoe is also capped /facepalm “damaging the target for (100% of Attack power) Holy damage and resonating [(100% of Attack power) / 2] Holy damage to up to 4 nearby enemies.”

It has to be said that S2 also plays off a talent (Vengeful Wrath) that just gets worse as we go up in gear/crit rating.

It’s not clear if we’ll hit a threshold where DP sims higher, of course S2 tier would put that threshold higher because of the 2 set damage/crit damage but if we do cross it then the S2 tier will crumble.

the extra 25% spender part of the 4 piece is the important thing

How with S2 gear is incredibly bad in aoe still because it’s target capped and does no damage.

not really, s2 also adds 15%, and all those %'s are up in the air to “tuning…”

yes, but its 15% extra (up to tuning) to 5 versus flat 25% dealt to everything

yeah but usually we get the shortest end of the stick in tuning passes…
why vote for the bonus that is hard capped and needs the biggest buffs if you could vote for the current set that is one of the best and most versatile sets we ever had?

even the 2 piece bonus needs a 200% buff to be on par with the current set

Well then it’s not exactly correct… it duplicates Divine Storm for 25%, but Divine Storm does reduced dmg beyond 5 targets.

yes and hammer of wrath does no damage beyond 5

25% to the full 100% 5 and 25% to the reduced+, still +25%

again i like the feel of 2 more than 3, im not claiming its way better. S2s downside is very slight rotation adjustment and new target adjustment, S3s downside is it has a harder cap on its aoe. I’m really fine with either.

thats what i dont get tho… what feel of season 2? its the same rotation
s2 downside is everything, even the bonus of splitting hammers has its downsides (it pulls stuff through walls -.-)
s3 has none of those, the only downside is “oh i need boj up, lets wait 1 second” if new targets spawn

It’s pretty much the same dmg, since it’s spread and reduced with each new target.

Its damage on secondary targets will scale by a factor of 1/sqrt(target#)… so reduced dmg beyond the 5, it doesn’t add up to much.

Also people aren’t taking into consideration that they can buff S2 or S1, to do superior dmg to S3 on lower number of targets, like 5.

and even the new spawn thing does not apply if anything with your dot is still alive, cleaving judgments prefers those targets and grants the bonus anyway

my problem with s3 has more to do with tanks, if i boj an add and get unlucky on resets of boj and the boj doesnt hit the main pack when it hits the priority add because positioning thats a dps loss and a priority that alive longer, and if i have to wait longer for tank positioning then same story. I do agree the hammers through walls was annoying
