Retribution Shadowlands Empyrean Power

Empyrean Power (previously an Azerite Trait) will be available as a Talent, giving Crusader Strike a moderate chance to make the next Divine Storm cost no Holy Power and increase the damage dealt by a significant amount.

Good decision, and thank you.

Free Divine Storm proc is always needed for smoothing out the rotation, which is why it always comes eventually (ICC 4-piece, Siege 4-piece, WoD-traits, Legion-Soul of Highlord, BFA-azerite).

It’s much better soon, than later.

Kind would prefer if it just remained being proc’ed from all attacks even itself, not Just Crusader Strike. But I guess it depends on how much of an increase in damage it going to get from being proc’ed only by Crusader Strike.

I’d also prefer it to be baseline, I can’t imagine playing without this trait anymore.

This really should’ve been baselined.
This functionality has been tacked on to the spec via tier, leveling talent, azerite, etc. I don’t see why they don’t just make it a basic part of Ret.

Here’s just hoping, that Empyrean Power as a talent doesn’t compete with Divine Purpose by being same tier. That would really suck.

Divine Purpose will be on the same tier as Holy Avenger and Seraphim. It’s 100% written in the sky since its been like that from mop to wod

Yeah too bad it will probably be on a row with other stuff you want more, dunno why this can’t just be baked into the spec.

Yeah Divine Purpose should be baseline for all spec at this point. Holy Avenger will be the easy winner in the row.

empyrean should just be baseline. i can’t imagine anyone not taking the talent.

Well I’m sure if it doesn’t work numerically most won’t pick it up, but the spec will just feel like crap to play without it.

Depends against what its gonna be. All we know so far is a talent row confirmed being Divine Purpose, Holy Avenger, Seraphim. All the other are open for changes specially when we have 3 talents becoming baseline abilities.

Probably because then they’d have to actually think of something new to replace Wake of Ashes on the tree with, now that it’s becoming baseline.

You are right, didn’t think about that.

All in all I’m a little relieved for now that the blogpost didn’t sound too bad for ret. Wake baseline was something I wanted since BfA started (perhaps they even lower the cooldown or bake in some cd reducing mechanic).
Now I only hope they adress our downtimes somehow.

Yeah I’m hoping our holy power spenders reduce the cooldown of Wake of Ashes, its fun to have something to build upon in the rotation and have it coming more often and faster is more fun, specially when using it smooths your rotation for a while.

Yet another vote for “just make it baseline.” It makes the rotation so much better that it’ll be near impossible to give up.

Proccing only from Crusader Strike is a little disappointing though. Watching Empyrean Power and Divine Purpose proc themselves and each other over and over is one of the most fun things in the game.

Or reduce the Cooldown of other abilities like Wings.

Hopefully both

I agree that Empyrean Power should proc of any hit, procc’ing solely of CS is depressing. Maybe they’ll actually make Crusader Strike hit like a truck, then I wouldn’t mind? As of now it’s barely worth pressing… Barely…
