Retribution Paladin Tuning in Patch 10.0.7

Is this a joke? April fools day was 4 days ago. A 3% nerf is not nearly enough to do anything for pvp, this monstrosity of a rework you guys have done has destroyed the ladder!

This is someone who has played Ret for a long time. This is what old Ret players ALWAYS see from the PvP community. When Ret isnā€™t around ā€“ no one cares but as soon as they become apart of the meta makeup itā€™s flip tables, reeeeeā€™ing and spazzing out from the pvp community. Every. single. time.

Rets were trash in SL ā€“ clearly you did not play xD

And this is why no one takes rets opinions about this seriously.

So when are the warlock and rogue nerfs? Theyā€™re doing as much damage as Ret is.

Do you have the ability to read the entire set of nerfs? week after week? it all adds up to bring the spec into the dirt again.

Oh please not a 21 of the easiest dungeon while wearing max ilvl gear and using a ring that does a ton of damage and healing.

and yet rogue/mage/warlock shine every expansion, every season.

I donā€™t think you will find many ret paladins that will honestly disagree that PvP missed the mark and had some glaring issues. They needed to do something about that.

Itā€™s their PvE nerfs that suck here. We got like two weeks of being desirable and every rogue, warrior and hunter were out complaining about having to actually put in some work to top meters.

Even before this nerf, you had to put in effort to stay alive and do good DPS in PvE. Join an LFR and you will see a ton of paladins at the bottom of the charts still. This was unnecessary to fix obvious PvP issues.

Do you want them to be absurdly OP and, for those that play Ret, a lot of fun? Then 3% is good.

Do you want them to have any semblance of balance as it pertains to EVERY OTHER CLASS? Then it needs to be about 14-17%.

Ret is justā€¦ EMBARRASSINGLY op atm. And the only thing worse is thinking that THREE PERCENT does anything to address the issue.

O no. My spec. yawn

Exactly. Being able to cast a couple weak flash heals means we need to be doing half their DPS in their minds, apparently.

You realize thereā€™s like 4-5 specs that do as much PvE dps as Ret, right?

Iā€™m curious, do you have eyes? You can look at logs and see that Ret is not OP at all, so where do you get your information from? Ret is top on 2 bosses, one with sustained 5 target cleave, and another with a 1m 200% damage buff where Rets CDs line up perfectly.

Yeah wow, rets had one decent comp for in how long? ret/war?

Please be realā€¦

Exactly! The devs are truly, inept, since we all know they can separate PvE and PvP tuning for a long time now! They must have fired the devs that knew how to do it!

he meant 30% makes sense. ret need at least like 30% damage nerf or somethin

Meme incoming

The matrix really does hate ret.

End of meme

I think they knew, they were deliberately reversing the intention.

What was really interesting is going through Warcraft logs for raid.

The 99% group of dps had Ret 1st overall and 5th on boss damage. Then every category below that had Ret #1 by a decent margin, but it was grossly apparent it was all chaff damage from adds they could burst quicker than others because boss damage fell into a giant hole. Basically why overall was a poor representation.

That said, based on logs alone Iā€™d argue that since theyā€™re nerfing Ret 3% which I can get behind (but only 3%), then Destro and Demo specs needs nerfed 3% as well because they were on par.

If you are doing 14-17% less than a Ret paladin then the problem does not lie with the paladin. Warriors are regularly competitive on DPS with Ret paladins, in fact in raid last week a warrior (of roughly equal gear and skill) and I were trading places on the DPS charts all raid long. High key groups I was in were not dissimilar.

You might want to consult a class forum to work on your issues, and stop worrying about pulling everyone else back to your level.
