Retribution Empyrean Hammer Crit Reduction Bug

Retribution seems to be dealing with a crit reduction when using Empyrean Hammer. I’ve tested 6 +10’s using a max crit build of natural 41% crit. Hammer did 21%, 19%, 22%, 24%, 22% and 24%. It’s almost exclusively doing between 18% - 20% less crit than the base crit with Pacemaker trinket.

This is all going to depend on how you’re reading into it. Both details and warcraftlogs will combine empyrean hammer and wrathful descent together.
As an example, it would be an easy mistake to look at this and say empyrean hammer had only a 33% crit chance.

When in reality, if we uncombine the two using the dropdown, we’ll see it was 100% crit chance.

Wrathful descent procs damage off when empyrean hammer crits, and as a result, itself cannot crit. If you’re looking solely at the combined value, crit chance will always appear lower.

Unfortunately you’re wrong on this topic. If you use Warcraftlogs and review last patch you’ll see that the Crit % actually matches the other abilities. Furthermore if you take more than 3 seconds to attack with 3 total uses. You can use your “Drop down” in both Warcraftlogs and Details and see your statement isn’t true.

This is a bug and needs to be addressed by the Devs. It’s harder for them to do their job when people post responses like yours.

Ya know, this was just an example because I didn’t know if you’re actually reading details right or not. The fact that you think that was 3 total hits from empyrean hammer instead of 1 empyrean hammer and 2 hits of wrathful descent just verifies that you don’t.

So here’s 321 hits from empyrean hammer with 31.55% crit rate on the character sheet and ~32.7% crit rate on empyrean hammer. Made it a more controlled test by having no crit procs and did not use wings.

For every one of these, the crit rates of empyrean hammer is within margin of every other ability they used. So the next time you want to go off on me, do your own research or link your own data that verifies this.
