Just reporting this, while trying to form groups for m+ nowdays, 50-70% of the people who apply are usually retribution.

I’m trying to understand it myself. It’s the first time I see this happening in any type of content apart from bosses that were dropping a legendary for specific class in the past.
It is impossible lately to form a group with specific comps, or if you don’t want a paladin in cause you already have one in your group, you’re kinda doomed.
Is it a balance matter? It is something else, I have no clue. I just leave the info here since it’s weird and it bothers me.
Ret has always been the most popular spec in the game, especially at lower levels. Nothing has really changed, it’s been solid but not exceptional in terms of power level for a while. For the keys most people are doing, you could also run 3 of them and be completely fine, just like with any other DPS spec. You don’t need a meta comp, you need 5 players on specs they’re comfortable with.

Dunno, maybe is me. I’m playing the game nonstop though from day 1 in November 2004 and I never felt so overwhelmed with seeing just one spec in that plethora.
