Retread or new race/class for Classic?

I am torn. Was a NE Huntard in vanilla and loved it. I never raided, but always wanted to try the Rhok quest. Looking towards Classic I really don’t know if I want to go through playing another Hunter or try something new. So many choices!

What is everyone else going to be doing?

I am torn between horde or alliance and I am also torn considering playing Priest, Warlock, Rogue, and Warrior. I kind of want to tank raids, but I also kind of dont want to play warrior because it will be the most played class in Classic. And I dont want Rogue to play rogue because it will be the second most played classic but I kind of want to do rogue things. I want to play Priest because it will be an underplayed class and it will be very desirable and also not overly played but at the same time I kind of want to be able to do things in the world that priests struggle with. My first Class was warlock so want to play it to finish what I started in Vanilla and I like all the cool things warlock can do but at the same time I dont really like that I will spend most of my time in raids spaming shadowbolt.

I really want to be a hunter, but I really don’t want to be an elf or a dwarf…and playing Horde is out of the question. I’m debating. If I do pick a hunter it’d be a Night Elf, but I’m still unsure.

I want to be a Paladin, too, but I remember how tedious it was to level as Ret compared to when I leveled a Warlock.

Initially I wanted to try something new, but then realized that maybe I made the right decision the first time. I rolled a Mage and Priest from Vanilla to Legion and stuck with those two almost exclusively. I’m drawn to those classes and don’t think anything else will resonate quite as much.

As for faction, I played Horde my first 6ish months in Vanilla then switched to Alliance to play with friends. I’ll have no such reservations in Classic, and will be Horde from the onset.

You’re right about the leveling. I had fun leveling as a hunter, kind of want to relive that. And I really liked hunter pvp as well, harassing rogues was fun.

Alliance or horde tho? I loved alliance instaques, but I would love to play horde side… dunno.

Considering this was my first toon, I started playing in BC, I’m going to have to go difference race so it’s gonna be Undead Priest for me.

What am I looking forward to most? Doing the AV grind again for my Frost Wolf Howler. That was literally the first epic mount I ever bought, not my stupid Chocobo I was supposed to get.

Funny story my room mate at the time was a Hunter and I told him I wanted the Frost Wolf Howler and he laughed and told me I would never grind out either the rep or the marks for it. He actually made a bet with me that if I did it he would pay for my riding skill.

I still refuse to use any other ground mount to this day. Frosty is still my buddy and the only mount I actually give a damn about. Here is to another awesome grind to get my buddy once again.

Well, I played a Night Elf Hunter in Vanilla, but for Classic I’m rolling Human Warlock.

Playing Horde is absolutely not going to happen unless for some reason I decide I want to be a Shaman.

Was a Human Pally first time

Undead Warlock this time

was a night elf hunter in vanilla. going troll hunter this time. for the racials and faction.

I mained a Hunter (early vanilla), Warrior (middle vanilla), and a Mage (late vanilla), then a Druid in BC. I definitely want to play one of the four, and certainly plan to level all four, but can’t decide which I’m going to main. High skill cap on a hunter is appealing, but the whole “being able to get a raid slot” aspect of the others is also appealing.

I’ve played mostly rogue. I have been trying to convince myself to go caster this time around. I will probably roll a mage or warlock first and see if it sticks. If not I’ll be playing rogue again.

I didn’t play in vanilla at all. I first started in Wrath. My main has always been a hunter. I really love the vanilla playstyle of the hunter, but I also love how the warlock plays, so I think a warlock is going to be my main.

Picking 2 mains. Everything else is an alt project. Lol

Was undead lock main, rogue alt, enhance shaman casual alt I barely play in vanilla… And after hours playing different classes on pservers, trying different builds and setting what life would have been like in something else…

I’m going to level a warlock and a Rogue, almost assuredly with the lock as a main. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Mages just fell “wrong” to me, neither spec of shaman really did it for me either, I still don’t like stance shifting as a warrior, vanilla ret is too vanilla (had one in tbc and wings +crusader strike are so huge), ferals just feel like bad versions of rogues, and shadow is a severely brain damaged version of later expansion versions that also has atrocious mana sustainability (had a shadow main /alt since Cata).

I’d been strongly considering doing rogue main to switch it up… But lock just has so much higher QoL with faster leveling, bigger damage in pvp, being Ranged, spec variety, easier to gear, a free mount @40, easier to get groups/raids on, and doesn’t need to respec to be optimal in pvp after raiding.
