Retcon one thing in the lore

Zoorval/Jailer.

The rest of shadowlands would make more sense and be a better experience if he didn’t exist.

Shadowlands was just a bad dream.

Agreed 100%. SL should have never happened

I personally would retcon Calia dying. I really don’t like her as a Forsaken representative.

The conclusion of the emerald nightmare happening in a singular patch. EN deserved to have a truly antagonizing presence, not being a first tier afterthought.

Everyone says remove the Shadowlands, and I will join the chorus.
WoW had a functioning afterlife system that made a hell of a lot more sense before SL. Now nothing makes any sense.

It’s not him existing that ruins things for me. It’s just him supposedly being the mastermind behind literally everything. That’s just nonsense to the point of being childish. Having him just be the powerful lord of the underworld, giving power to Sylvanas to help with his schemes. That was enough. That’s all cool to me. The dreadlords originating from the shadowlands is excellent. And fits them perfectly. Even the idea that frostmourne and the whole scourge aesthetic came from the maw, and the retcon that rather than them creating frostmourne and the helm of domination they actually just stole them. That also works for me. That is the kind of devious thing the nathrezim would do. But it all sucks when you try and tell me they were always secretly serving the Jailer. “No!”, I say! I reject that! They came from revendreth, got banished, joined the legion, and kept their origin hidden. Simple. Makes sense.

The 4th War was started by the Alliance instead of Psycho Sylvanas.

Anduin, as the new King, gets a lot of bad advice from Genn and Jaina, who both hate the Horde and Sylvanas, and the Alliance ends up causing the war as a result; Sylvanas rises to the occasion to lead the Horde in its defence against Alliance aggression.

Boom.

No “the Horde are EEEEVIL” in BfA, and Shadowlands has no reason to exist.

I wanna make all salt water in azeroth fresh water. And all fresh water into salt water.

Kill multiple timelines

Either kill off sylvanas or retrace back to wc3. in fact retcon wc3 where arthas brings her back as a banshee, has a good long laugh, then points frostmourne at her and sucks her soul into his sword

anduin shouldve stopped crying 10 yrs ago in mop or something

dont bring back uther.

nuke wod that started the whole multiple timelines bs

did i cover it all? oh yeah kill off multiple timelines. keep it all to one. no past present future bs

that should do it

I’ll do you one better. Sylvanas never was involved in any uber death stuff and therefore she never becomes warchief in Legion. By doing this, the worst plotline in WoW is removed and a fan favorite character is saved.

I feel like the biggest miss with Sylvanas in SL was not taking her in the direction that seemd obvious to me in BFA and leading into SL… but apparently I misread their foreshadowing.

Sylvanas’ defining tragedy is what she was subjected to at the hands of Arthas. She was robbed of her free will and enslaved.

She says “the Horde is nothing”, “toy soldiers playing” in BFA cinematics amd then when she cracks the sky “I’m setting us all free”.

Enter the Jailer who is now behind “everything” including Arthas whom enslaved Sylvanas and the scourge. On top of that she discovers that everyone she ever loved or fought to protect is used as living batteries for these arrogant creatures in the SL.

It didnt make sense that Sylvanas would join the jailer to further enslave every being who ever lived on Azeroth.

It did make sense that Sylvanas would play the part for the Jailer though. Allow him to get more powerful through war crimes on Azeroth so he could make war on the Shadowlands.

But rather than Sylvanas being the puppet, for the first time the Jailer is the one being manipulated.

Instead of having the Jailer being the big bad, have the whole of the SL as the big bad.

SL should have ended with Sylvanas leading in war against the afterlife itself. Freeing not only the living from slavery, but the undead and dead too as has been Sylvanas’ life’s work.

It not only wouldnhave worked for Sylvanas, but woukd have put the war and war-crimes in BFA into not just the actions of a power hungry physcho. But the sacrifices required to free all sentient beings from an eternity of slavery in the SL

Shadowlands was a bad dream.

Like seriously having the Jailer be this big bad behind every single thing including the Lich King and all that Jazz only for him to go down like that? And he’s not even a titan, like come on.

Thrall died instead of Grom vs Mannoroth. Grom leads the Horde well and teach Garrosh how to lead causing one of the more prosper futur for the Horde to happen.

Retcon Vol’jin dying at the Broken Shore. Have him stepping down - not dying - to go on a pilgrimage based on some vision he received during the retreat (could still be the same duplicitous one). Anything to keep him alive and able to come back into the fold during slands and be help provide more horde presence and still be present during current content.

That’s a pretty triumphant death for Thrall, if done right, and he could still be a driving legacy for them. Interesting retcon.

I’d recon Arthas’ final fate. Give him either a better end, or an anti-hero redemption arc (fight evil with evil thing).

Varian Wrynn dying. I would have made it to where he got away or had a shield. Alliance has all that gnome tech and they just let him die.

You telling me they could not beam Varian away or deploy a mobile shield emitter to save his life from Gul,dan?
