Some people enjoy classic, some people enjoy retail. Both sides are valid because so long as you enjoy it. That’s all that matters.

I don’t really think classic players even enjoy classic, based on how much time they spend in retail GD trying to get a rise out of people. It’s all a little depressing, tbh.

Well please remember, the term “vocal minority” exists.
The game evolved, you just didn’t play it when it did, so you now feel overwhelmingly lost, but that doesn’t mean the game is bad.
If you can’t handle it, then guess what?
Classic wow is still there. You can still play it.
So there, everyone’s happy.
What’s with this sudden hatred of having gear progression? The alternative is having multiple proc/augment sets in the game the devs nerf in favor of new sets (buffed), which will be nerfed for new sets, which will be nerfed…

I wonder how many dozens of players will still be playing classic once the hype over hardcore dies. I mean, there must be dozens!
ppl seem to still go strong in hc. i had fun for like 7 levels but when i logged into wrath i had a dc for whatever reason and was like “well that could of been me in hc.” n dropped it lol

I think what you’re looking for is more of a classic rpg. This is an MMORPG, which in 2023 is about instanced content. Every single thing you described about your unsatisfactory experience since you’ve come back to retail is the direct result of having strange, or at the very least, very dated expectations.

It’s not unrecognizable. It’s still an MMO and 99% of people who played classic when it was live would know it’s the same game if they logged onto retail today.
It’s a 20 year old game, of course things have changed.

in retail they don’t put out actual updates to the content. they just put stuff on the screen that keeps people subscribed. it’s a software for making money. Retail WoW is an equation on a spreadsheet figuring out how little they can do while keeping the most amount of players.

And so what, dont like it don’t play it and Classic isn’t even real classic.
We didn’t get handed anything in true classic ie Vanilla yet here we are classic getting extras that were never even there.
Classic is just rehashed content as well so really there’s no real winner between retail and classic
yea it’s the last patch of classic but other than that nothing is any less difficult than original classic. There’s no p2w, no store boosts, no WoW token etc.
I stopped using ANY of the Default UI the second I discovered addons.

Sorry to break it to you but tokens are now in Classic , try to keep up if you’re going to compare classic and retail.
And just like retail tokens, you don’t have to buy them, you can go spend your 20 bucks on dinner instead.
And also people still spammed for services including our old dead friend susanexpress
