I’ve not played Retail in about a week and a half. Partly I’ve been on-call for the last week and haven’t had time to play ANY game…partly I’ve been playing Classic Anniversary edition.
Tonight 12/23/24 The game did an update before I logged in. Now I can’t play Retail at all, any character I go to load it crashes with a Memory Violation Access Error “Can’t Read Memory”…
So I switch over to Classic , that game works fine…no crash.
(Also BG3 - yes I’m still playing that game, runs fine even on a multiple hour session)…
My point for telling you other games aren’t crashing is because I want to avoid the canned “its your hardware” line.
Its not.
Even Retail Wow was solid two weeks ago.
EDIT: It says to tell Blizzard about this Report ID –
C2CBC8A7-1972-4033-9801-FB0D07D92A70
Did you get this resolved? I know someone with the same issue.
Unfortunately no one can read the code. A dxdiag might help. It might contain information related to the errors that caused the crash.
Otherwise there’s the standard support page to go through.
No unfortunately. It’s random. Yesterday morning I logged in and played for an hour in retail then it happened out of the blue while turning in a quest.
I then played other games the rest of the day with zero issues. Like I said the fact any other game never gives me a problem this far this is definitely a wow thing.
I’m wondering if it could be add ons though . I’m gonna try a WTF reset an try removing add ons when I get the chance to play again.
I think I said it it in the original report until TWW I’ve never had crashing issues as often in wow before so it was a shocker seeing this problem.
