So what I take from what you just shared is, that some Classic player’s want the game to remain as is and other classic player’s want updates that can be found in BFA. If that’s the case your issue is with the classic player’s and modern wow player’s have nothing to do with your issue.
First off it isn’t an insult to enjoy retail. Also you are an example of one of the many issues with the classic community.
These are called tourist who prefer retail but are trying out Classic wanting there BFA QoL in Classic. No one enjoying Classic for the museum piece it is ask for changes except retail players.
All this to say no, I don’t think you understand but good attempt.
I know exactly what LookingForGroup is, you can join it with join LookingForGroup. It’s an in-game channel that people use to advertise and find groups.
You took it as an insult. I have stated many times in many places that enjoying retail is great! Buuuut trying to bring retail to classic is the problem. That’s why people say “go back to retail” because those people belong in retail. Other than a few select people, people love playing with and talking to me. So no, I am not what is “wrong”. And to top it off, Classic community is far and away better than any other blizzard community. It’s not even remotely close.
Except there playing classic. Not retail, if it were a retail player saying “I would play classic wow if they add X.” Than I would agree that it is a retail player asking for the change. What I take from this whole debate is some classic player’s want convenience that can be found in BFA and other player’s of classic for the nostalgia.
If you want modern conveniences play BFA. If want the nostalgic feel of 15yr old wow play classic.
You just told someone that you had a disagreement with to and I quote “GTFO” if you think that is friendly and inviting you are sorely mistaken.
I will agree that the LFD system makes it easier to be toxic. I’ve meet quite few classic side as well. People are all the same whether their playing classic or modern wow.
Hello, I am a Classic player who never got a chance to experience vanilla WOW. I have not logged into any of my retail characters since Classic launched. I am liking Classic very much, but I can understand the frustration. I feel like the excuses given to stop any changes are simply bullheaded stubbornness.
Some of the changes being asked for are exactly the changes most people who played vanilla wanted. I do not see any sense in telling people to play the game as it is without changes or go to retail. I do not like all the changes made to the game over the years, but some of them were nice.
What does it matter if we can transmog or have a guild bank? I do not buy the argument that it is an open door to bad changes. Sorry to burst your bubble. Some of the small changes would make it a better game, and give it more time to play in the long run.
For anyone who asks, no, I do not like the LFG, LFD, LFR, or anything that automatically throws you in with strangers you will never see again. I like being in a guild with friendly, helpful people. I love to help others in a dungeon and on my priest, mage and druid, I throw out buffs to all I pass by. This is by far a better iteration of the game than BfA.
I hope we can end the divisive discussions and focus on enjoying what we all enjoy.
That’s fine. As for me I will remain as I enjoy it. Classic is nice for feeding my nostalgia, but that’s about it for me.
A vanilla player that has had year’s of playing modern wow, but wanted the nostalgic vibe that came with classic. While playing classic realised why they love it so much. But now they miss the modern conveniences of BFA.
