Retail is deader than a post

My point is that Blizzard has deeper development issues that have existed before covid. Covid may have exacerbated some issues, but you can’t just say the delays are because of covid when Blizzard was cutting major content in BFA. Blizzard has core structure problems and covid or not, they’re still going to be problems.

Other studios with less money and manpower have been able to get out content patches during the pandemic. Blizzard… has problems.

I wouldn’t. I’m just playing other games to fill the time rather than expecting WoW to be my sole source of entertainment.

Keep in mind that “Japans big outbreak” is just a normal, non newsworthy day in the US.

The US have 33.7k new cases today and a day average of 42.1k whereas Japan have 6k daily cases and an average of 5k.

Even adjusting for the population difference (328M for US and 126M for Japan), they’re still dealing with it a lot better than the US is.

Not an option when running a raid team

If your team can’t deal with a 5 month raid, how on earth are they gunna deal with a 10-12 month raid?

Tbh, I really have no idea why big video game franchises aren’t chomping at the bit to get as much content out there BECAUSE of COVID. From a business standpoint you would think now is the time. Everyone is spending more time at home which would blow the market wide open. Doesn’t make sense…

We take a break on those, but a new expansion is more exciting to get people to come back than a patch, and generally everyone wants to break at that point, if I were to ask now it would be 50/50, so if we break half would have no choice but to leave and go elsewhere

They’ve had a couple spikes since the start of the year, which for them are big but when compared to North America are relatively minor. For a country that has about half as many people as America, packed into a space smaller than California they have had fewer cases than America has had deaths.

And I completely agree with you on this. Blizz has always been the lumbering behemoth when it comes to development. Many other companies are much more agile and can turn out content faster.

But that’s not what you said. You said Covid wasn’t an excuse for taking even longer than normal.

The game has appeared to slow down a great deal while waiting for the next patch. I thought it was going to be in August, not sure of the date or if it is even in August but know it is this year.
It appears you are only level 50 on the Hunter. Why not level her up to 60 before the patch gets here? I brought my Hunter over to Shadowlands to level her up in this slow period. I dislike having to gear another toon but will persevere.

the game slowed down way before it should of cause many didn’t like shadowlands and i’d be surprised if 9.1 brought half of what left. btw blizz alli is worthless i’m on one of the biggest servers and since i can’t find enough to do stuff with add npc’s cause you suck at keeping people and don’t wanna cross faction things so i’d rather play with bots than sitting hrs trying do one thing. i would get my friends but there alli to and there nowhere to be found.

Not just WoW, either. All the Blizzard family of games share a very disturbing type of clear mismanagement since 2017 (and perhaps before). Hearthstone is flagging, Overwatch 2 may not even make it out of the studio alive, and the less we same about anything reforged or requiring phones the better.

You don’t have to be a negative thinker to see the problems. They may not be as bad as the Chicken Littles out there might have you believe. Neither though, are they as trivial as the Three Wise Boomkins suggest.

You said it.

So how is it Blizz’s fault you chose to purchase the expansion?

Source?

Or are you a psychic from the future? If so, you’re the 3rd one I’ve seen today in my intermittent forum surfing.

As much as I think the game is crap in its current incarnation, it doesn’t mean it’s dead. A lot of people are still playing. Stop projecting your own perception and transferring blame for choices you make. Nobody twisted your arm.

You and everyone else. Ten years “off and on” doesn’t give you some medal to dictate the current state of the game and how well it’s doing.

I’ve played since early 2005, 16.5 years, and I’m saying it’s still alive and well. So my opinion is more valid than yours per your logic.

cause your horde

Sharding. They won’t look like Classic zones because they’re purposefully keeping them from looking like that.

So find another Guild. Guilds die all the time. I don’t know if you mean this alt’s guild or your main’s, but this alt’s guild was founded in 2007 and literally only has 1 max level character in the entire guild. Of course it’s dead. It was dead before the expansion started.

No they’re not. You just hit ilvl 183 or so… yesterday, if your achievements are anything to go by. If premade listings seem dead, it’s likely because you can get just shy of 200 without ever touching group content, so everyone is setting their ilvl requirements above what you’re at.

Agreed that this is a content drought. It’s abnormal for there to be this big of a gap between launch and x.1. Fairly easy to pin that on Covid though. Xpack was delayed so of course they’re also behind on patch content.

It’s looking like nothing special, sure, but par for the course is totally fine.
