I’d like to PvP with a full Ret build. Do you think it’ll be possible to tank low level 5 mans with that setup and using runes like Avenger’s Shield, Reckoning and Divine Storm?
I’m wondering if not having 3/3 in Imp Righteous Fury will negatively impact threat generation enough to not make it viable, even with a taunt.
Could try bumping up damage by using a 2H’er instead of a sword/shield as well. Might have good synergy with Divine Storm.
Low lvl dungeons really don’t matter much for tanking. Threat shouldn’t matter much either
It’s speculation at this point.
In true vanilla it was certainly viable to ret tank up til around mara/brd where both threat and mit became bigger issues.
In terms of survivability, I think the first few phases Ret still should be fine given healing if anything should be easier.
I think the minor question mark is whether other classes are doing high enough dps in SoD to make either single target or aoe threat a challenge.
If I were gambling I’d venture Ret should still be fine for tanking at least til lvl 40, but we’ll have to see in practice.
This depends on if the 5 mans are still the same. We got new tricks and its possible the bad guys got a few new tricks too.
