The animation for judgment shows it hitting multiple targets. What is really odd is that only the explicit target takes damage, but nearby targets seem to be aggroed. I hit a target mob, and apparently a rabbit critter. After killing the target mob, was still in combat until I chased after the rabbit and killed it. I have no talents that should be doing this. Currently at level 29, but was happening well before that.
Are you specced into Blessed Champion in your retribution tree? I don’t think you have the points to put into that until you reach level 29, but that would explain multiple judgements at a time.
This bug is related to the hotfix made to Blessed Champion this past week. It occurs in scenarios where you don’t have the talent selected, bizarrely enough.
Thanks for the info. Well, at least it’s a known problem!
I thought I was going absolutely crazy, because I just logged into my little Tauren pally for the first time since DF came out, fixed her spec, and found that Judgement was hitting everything under the sun (including stuff I specifically DON’T want to pull). Sure enough - she ISN’T specced into Blessed Champion.
I stopped playing the game for 8 months and I see Blizzard is STILL gonna Blizzard…
Yes, Judgment is still broken after all this time. It’s a pretty fundamental problem and it is really annoying to aggro a bunch of nearby mobs when you just want to deal with one. How they can think this is not worth fixing is beyond me.
This bug ironically “helped” me finish the collect 50 souls quest in ICC for Shadowmourne last week on my pally a lot easier because the faux Judgments that fly out are applying the Shadow’s Edge debuff even though they otherwise do no damage or any other effects. Saved me time having to wait on Rebuke and Divine Toll cooldowns.
I am currently having this issue as well. Like you said, it’s frustrating because it keeps hitting critters that keep me in combat until I find and kill them. Really annoying.
Bump, this is an incredibly frustrating issue
Yes, the bug means you aggro multiple targets. What are you supposed to do, not use Judgement when questing?
OK good to know I’m not crazy!!
Spent a better part of an hour looking for the talent/s that made my judgement hit multiple targets.
I knew I didn’t have Blessed Champion, so I was trying to find the one talent that did this. ( hard to do when you have to spend all your points to apply any changes).
But surely enough, after testing on training dummies in SW, hitting the smaller dummy with talented Blessed champion hits two other dummies as intended (3 total). However hitting the smaller dummy with out Blessed Champion hits all 4 in range.
Please fix.
