I never played a ret paladin before, but going from unholy dk to ret paladin was like night and day. The amount of things I can do with ret paladin talent tree and design the class how I want to play is crazy.
Do I want to have wings as a passive when I do ashes? I can do that.
Do I hate crusader strike? Get rid of it or make it into combo attack.
Do I hate target ground aoe skills? Get rid of it combine it with another attack.
When I played Unholy I was thinking, these talents while cool don’t change class too much, I hate wounds, and can’t really spec out of it. Yet, Ret paladin is so darn versatile that I can change parts I don’t like.
Yeah I hate the blade of justice forced to have consecration built in. Its no longer a choice and complicates things like losing my stealth detector or avoid breaking cc by using one less generator.
You can use DnD without the target recycle by either of these macro’s
/cast [@mousecurser] Death and Decay
Or
/cast [@Khaelyn] Death and Decay
To cast it at yourself. But if you want to stay ret, but don’t want wake to activate wings, try this macro for size;
/cast Avenging wrath
/cast [@Khaelyn] Final reckoning
This allows you to merge 2 cool downs into one button since wrath does not use the gcd. (Replace wrath in the macro for crusade if you choose that instead.)
Also do us paladins a favor and change the title to spec tree, our class tree needs allot of work done to it.
Consecration should have been converted to a aura around the Pally instead of something placed on the ground.
So any mobs coming close to the Pally will take holy damage because of the Consecration ‘aura’.
