Atleast tell him to buy Nightfall.

R14 gear is great, just a bunch of weeks of pvp tonget it.

AV 1 hand mace and shield are nice.

AB boots belt and shoulder are good too

I would say yes. You could probably argue over the proc rates a bit, and whether or not you have vengeance (I don’t in reck build), but the +str makes the damage comparable and the +15 sta from TUF is generally going to serve you better in PvP. After all that AV you did, I’d be surprised if you couldn’t just go buy it.

Halberd 100% makes you look cooler though, and that definitely counts for something!

You’d lose out on human racial with an axe. Thats 3% hit atm and 5 expertise later

Human Paladin only needs 3% hit on gear with a sword/mace

How much does Nightfall cost on whatever realm we’re talking about? There’s been one on Mankrik Era cluster AH for a while, I think it’s around 3k.

I mean a guild should be funding it.

Oh, well that changes things if you already have a fast mount. It’s really only worth it if the package includes the class gear, the AV exalted gear, and the mount. When the TBC prepatch hits, you can just farm individual piece of Grand Marshal gear for cheap. It’s like 2-3 hours a piece or so in AV. A GM weapon will last until Ring of Blood in Nagrand (about level 66), and would be perfectly fine to take into 68-70 normal dungeons.

In the meantime, I’d run ZG if I could for Zin’rokh, Destroyer of Worlds. It’s better than the Unstoppable Force. If you’re having trouble finding a group, try UBRS as there are three two handers that drop in there and they’re all decent starters.

You can also just run AV for the quest to win a match, as the reward is a level 58 equivalent polearm which is about on par with the UBRS weapons.
