Finally building out a Ret set and wondering whats a good weapon to target for in dungeons?
Just do PvP and get the Unstoppablke Force. It’s better than anything in a dungeon. And by the time you get there, you’ll be really close to rank 11 which gets you a mount and a six piece set that’s better than any dungeon gear for Rets (plus a ring that’s BiS, too). Then come prepatch, you can pound out a GM two hander of your choice, and that will last you until Nagrand.

Also, on your way there, you can do the AV quest for Ice-Barbed Spear. You can do this at level 51
It can be tough to solo before the game ends though, you might need help.

how long is that grind? Im not to big into PvP
The grind to get to AV exalted isn’t that long. You can actually get it in on an AV weekend if you’re willing to put the time in (gonna be like 30 hours). To get to rank 11, and you still can, it’s going to be more like 60 hours if you finish up on an AV weekend. Then you can also get a fast mount for 90g.

If you’re not that big into PvP and you like ret then I guess you are a pve ret paladin. I would just buy destiny sword off the auction house and try to get into a molten core and bwl and get a weapon that way. SR runs. Or zg 2h. Or play holy and SR ret gear. Aq40 tier tokens are a great ret set item. You may have trouble getting into groups as ret though so be prepared to heal

Good news, your first two weeks for ranking require only 33,500 honor and then 110,000 honor to progress, and AV is still the fastest and easiest. Your individual skill at PvP matters least here. And that’s about 10-12 hours of gameplay, which will get you to rank seven. Then, the next week will be AV weekend, and you’ll need 256,000 honor, but you can get that done in as few as 10 hours because you get bonus honor (plan on 12-15 though). AV weekend starts 12:01 Friday AM (after thusrday night) and lasts until Tuesday reset. So that’s only a three or so hours a day over four days, and you’ll be rank 9.7, almost 10.

Some time during Anniversary they got rid of the off-week so now they all just rotate continuously
@OP - This is good advice; however, be aware that getting R11 in AV without an epic mount can be a bit much. I’ve known a lot of people who have pursued this and maybe half of them have actually completed the goal. The other half gave up and just bought their mount.
R11 in and of itself isn’t that bad, but getting farmed over and over by the enemy team because you can’t keep up with the pack can get a bit old

I have my epic mount, how does that change how you do AV? I really dont know squat about PvP in this game
Not having it is an issue because it means you’ll get across the map more slowly than others, which means you won’t be with your team and will be more vulnerable. Also, you’ll often not clear the choke point by the time the Horde team gets there, so they’ll usually just kill you. Sometimes Horde will ignore you or sometimes there will be a defense game, but usually you’ll just get farmed.
I have a lot of plays I follow in an AV game, and farming the “poverty pony patrol” is definitely one of them. I’ll cut in behind the Horde offense and pick off the slow players. This is usually how I find some PvP in AV without too much risk of messing with the current honour meta.
If you have your epic mount you’ll be fine. If you don’t know much about PvP, just follow the team until you get your bearings. Be patient and you will figure it out. Also, standard PvE Ret (ie, repentence) is a solid AV spec. Reckoning is even better, but only if you intend to fight and have decent gear.

Dungeons? Why not just do raids as Holy and get yourself ret gear that way? T2.5 should be easy as heck to get. If you’re on Era Might of Menethil isn’t all that hard to get. I just got one on my warrior a few weeks ago and I wasn’t even trying to get it 
. Although the demand for it may be going up with the introduction of dual spec.
Honestly, they could do this with an epic mount that only worked inside of battlegrounds and it would be absolutely fine. Sadly, WoW players (across all versions) like their PvP inequality just a little too much…
I thought changing mounts to 30/50 was a good change in TBC, but changing again to 20/40 was not a good change in WoTLK

That’s fair. I never have 1000g by level 60 anyway so it wouldn’t matter 
Ron is correct, try to knock out those low caps first BEFORE that big AV weekend. AV weekend just ended, so knock out the 33k and 110k caps to be ready after that.
Also, download the Ranker add on. It is amazing.
