Less and less pvp games to play because people are tired of losing rating to super overpowered ret pal. But i guess blizzard is making tons of money on lvl 60 boosts so they dont care. go play pvp on alt in the 60’s… each team has 5 ret paladin spawn camping graveyard for a week now… $60 boost each of them trolls
welcome to what hunters have been doing sense launch of dragonflight lol
hunters have been causing people to lose rating? that’s news to me.
*since
Anyway, no, hunters are not the monsters these days.
how are you even still allowed on here all you do is troll and sht post XD
Is that the only thing he said? Or was that the only thing you could try to pick apart haha
Do nothing outside of an rng kill shot proc and die?
I get it. all classes should be tuned more even in a way that the difference will be in the experience and abilities of the gamer. But at the same time why people complain so much? it’s being ages since Ret. hasn’t being attractive to play, so create one on your own and enjoy until Blizzard invest in competent Devs. to do the right tunning on every class.
It was actually very strong in random BGs before the upgrade. See below. The problem is that it was struggling in arena due to priests and warriors being so popular and strong.
Now, paladin is doing a bit more (not much, really) damage than before but with a TON more survivability.
Because of the survivability options, paladins feels like the most well-rounded DPS out there with pretty much an answer for almost all situations. Other DPS are way behind in this respect. Just talking BGs here.
Because it’s so easy to have a max level of every class this is going to happen every single time a class is described as FOTM/OP whether or not it actually is. Back in Vanilla there was like 1 person who had 1 of every class, and that was it for a long time because of the time investment.
As someone who, in more recent expansions, has most or all classes at max level this doesn’t really bother me. But, this is a valid point. However, I think I would rather have the flexibility to easily play multiple classes as I tend to burn out on a class fairly quickly.
Strange how things have changed. I had three level 60 rogues in Vanilla and never got bored playing them. Some nostalgia if anyone interested.
I agree. It sucks to essentially be forced to play something because it is clearly better. But every time the word gets out that a class is OP, you’re just going to have to deal with 5 of them per team in WSG. Blizzard could prevent this by doing a better job testing before things go live, but, well, I’ll believe it when I see it.
This is just down right incorrect. Ret was attractive to play in shadowlands, Ret war dominated the ladders a couple of seasons. People watch the AWC, the top 0.00001% of players, and think it’s representative of the ladders.
I really quite despise the logic behind Rets #1 defense of the spec, “It sucked for so long, let us have our time to shine”. Even though I don’t believe Ret sucked for a long time, EVEN if I did, I still don’t agree that to compensate they should be so overpowered, it ruins the game for a majority of the pvp player base.
Just did a brawl with 13 RETs total in the game.
Started leveling a Ret. Paladin to see what the big deal is about (from perspective of playing it anyway). What are the builds?
I got mine to 70 and have just the couquest weapon and honor set.
I can top the damage charts with it lol
Only by comparison with old Ret. As someone that plays Ret and Arms, Ret is only SLIGHTLY tankier than an Arms Warrior.
Which begs the question, who should set the standard for how survivable melee should be?
People obviously hate Ret Paladins and Ret Paladin players, they always have. But lets see if we can set that aside.
Arms is pretty tanky but I’d say it’s a good bit after Ret.
Divine protection, Shield of Veng, Eye for an Eye (against physical damage) are all on relatively short cooldowns and fill the gaps for forbearance on DS, BOP and LOH.
Couple this with something like fistweaver (which I am in random BGs) and you can just straight up win some 2v4s and 2v5s with no real threat of dying.
Ignore Pain and IV both offer pretty solid survivability. Given its low CD especially, Ignore Pain can offer a larger total absorb than SoV does. DProt vs DBTS is kind of a wash, Dprot gives 10% more, DBTS is frontal cone melee immunity.
Theyre comparable but id give the edge to Ret. Honestly tbough id say theyre cloae enough that it can be chalked up to a difference of opinion on individual ability power.
