Ret dps - out of control?

even snaring him, rooting him, stunning him, cloning him… when he catches someone he is doing so much damage that all cc and CDs are pointless.

I just saw a ret, salivating and angry, bubble an opener and delete a shaman doing 30k dps, with 65k TVs. I dont know how but he hit the shaman 5 times with TV inside of the bubble.

The shaman used his defensive CD, earth totem, and even call jesus directly (personal line), yet he still died.

Later, the ret sent us a message letting us know that we are the worst players in wow and that we are now hashtag stamps on his inner thigh…

Ret is like the giant snail from Throne of thunder. He just gives you the big succ and spits out your bones.

Did your Shaman activate Ghost Wolf and remember to press W? Heard that’s a really hard counter to Rets these days.

Disabled folks need a spec to play so I’m cool with Ret doing 30k dps with one button

Your raps pale in comparison to the #1 Ret in NA returning to the scene.

Is this why ret dies in 90% of all streams? 65k TV isn’t even high tbh, this sounds like a 1.5 rant.

It’s possible with Crusade because of the stacking up to 30% additional haste lowering gcd. He probably got some free Holy Power return procs from Lucid Dreams otherwise he would only be able to get 3-4 off in that window.

I played 2s this week end in the 1500-1800mmr and I can assure you people have no idea what to do against a ret. Except when I faced a frostmage rdruid and mw ele who just cc the hell out of me even though I was playing conflict and strife for freedom speed boost with immunity to purge

Watched Pikaboo’s stream last night. They played against a ret in 3s.

The ret was doing 60k dps during his burst.

Played some 2s myself last night with a druid. Went against a dpriest and ret pally. I had uptime on the priest nearly the whole game, and peeled for my druid with an occasional disarm and intimidating shout. We won, but at the end of the game the ret had averaged 19k dps and I pulled about 13k.

I know a one legged ret paladin that does meter boggling damage instantly.

Ret does pretty good single target damage, but wait until you realize Assassination does even more with a 30% MS on top of it and an undispellable HoJ every 20 seconds.

Their cleave is absurd as well. Templers Verdict or whatever the 1 button ret needs for damage is unhinged.

Is that the paladin that tea bags everyone… dead or alive?

Yeah, I think he’s british. Dude loves handing out earl grey sessions

They do a lot of damage ya but at least they’re not an immortal spec

Ret/War is obviously really strong for example but I find a high damage but way more fragile melee cleave that has fast paced games on both ends to be much better than the DK melee cleaves we had from last season and up until this week

Overall I think it’s good for pacing for people to have high damage as long as they also can die. I’ve been clapped by rets and my spec is generally more vulnerable to them but I find it’s way more fair than something that you never can generate counter pressure against.

I googled earl grey and it made me laugh.

Deathstrike needs a good wompin.

Also not sure why they did it (but I have a good idea) but making all the runes the same really doesn’t help the class at all.

I remember having to decide which abilities I could use in a few seconds because I had runes on CD, or needing to use big CDs to get neutral runes so I could use an ability I needed to.

Death Strike should need a lot of resources or have some sort of CD/Max. Shouldn’t be dependent on dampening to make them killable.

Remember when deathstrike required runes to use? I remember.

Leave the Runic Power for Death Coil and Epidemic :man_shrugging:
