Going to a dungeon to test some WAs. Have WBs left over from raid on me. See a Ret near the entrance. NBD gonna run inside. Nope, 6,328 dmg in a single GCD. 3,452 damge crusader strike. My Ashbringer with WBs would be lucky to do 500 crit bloodthirst back.
Season of Aggrend’s Private Server (he mains ret on his socials, posts screenshots of it). Would probably take me 15-20 seconds to kill the Ret if he was AFK to kill him (no LoH, no bubble, no healing, no bop, etc) but I die in literally one hit. No point in them making a classic+ in the future if they can’t fix this type of intentional bias on the dev team.

Ret and druid were buffed to #1 and #2 in ICC for no reason in wotlk. They’re insanely OP in SoD. If we get another modified classic, how much you wanna bet paladin and druid will be beyond broken again? Aggrend should be required to main warrior in whatever the next version they make is.
They will have to just add armor pen, would be the equalizer against rets. They eat our tushy because of holy damage and bubble. Arp would at least give us some damage against plate.
It’s no secret that Paladin was the DK of sod. Roll one while you can, the class is fun as frick, great quests and lore.

also its just basic game balance. This should be a consideration first thing. And it probably is. They know its broken and they dont want to fix it. Its by design. Sort of like how they fixed the spell que window for heroic strike and maul in WotLK classic but intentionally left it for all of SoD.
On top of that, even if I had 100% armor pen on all my attacks I would STILL do less than half what a Ret does in PVP in SoD. Soooo…
we will have to wait and see. If you are right. Then you are right.

How was warrior in wrath? Oh right, the rank 1 fury did less dps than a dk gargoyle on patchwerk and it took cleave fights in togc/icc with a legendary and arp cap to finally catch up to the top and we were still worse than druids and mages even with a legendary. Prot warrior scaled in reverse, okay in naxx, mid in ulduar, carried by inflated ulduar ilvl in togc, and then promptly fell off a cliff in icc. And arms got 0 help because “just play fury”

But y’all are still bent over 2019.
Oh and on the topic of ret and druid in classic, ret is a very strong 1v1 spec in pvp and a very solid support damage dealer thanks to bop/freedom, rdru is the premier FC, rdru in general was very good actually. And since you didn’t mention them I will, hpal has been an S tier healer since 2019 and while prot pal suffered due to lack of taunt it was the best tank for tbc and wrath, and still better than prot warrior in cata.

Warrior is #1 until the parse rules change and all the cleave disappears from logs as usual.
They’re currently 7th for boss damage on all bosses in 20 man. Whoops sorry, they’re 4th at the 95th percentile in 20 man, and 12th in 40 man.
Have to remember to hold all warriors to the 95th+ percentile standard so that way we can only look at warriors with legendaries.
Oh, and that’s ALL warriors have been good at since our runes got gutted in MC. Cleave and raid dps. Bad in pvp until SE tank set+ashbringer, I hear prot is finally good in SE, only took how long? Arms is unsupported and fury is all warrior actually has. But y’all are STILL mad about 2019.

It’s weirdo cope to be mad about vanilla pve class balance when the game isn’t balanced around pve. Like what, you want to give vanilla ret crusader strike and divine storm so they can play like fury warrior but also have 3x the burst of arms?

Hate to say it, but it doesnt matter anymore, Blizz has left the building. But props for trying to fight the good fight.
Every BG I do now is pallies with ashbringer taking a whiff of damage, bubbling, and still rolling over groups, hunters mowing down anything that moves, and boomies nuking anything left standing. Everybody else is just trying to survive.

So you got triple crit and upset in the world you died one rotation??? Every class can do this in the world they nerfed bg damage, so you can’t tell me your warrior on a quick burst can’t do 6k damage??? So your DPS is less than 6k in raids??? With ashbringer???
Warrior hits for like 500-700 on a crit on plate so no. they don’t do 6k in burst. And they wear tank 3.5 now so they can sit in dstance for the survivability.
Uhhh, based on the complaining about ret’s insane burst for the last like year, I’m gonna go with it didn’t go great in reality.
