Hey all, I just got my alt pally to 60 and am gearing out… from what I read online Final Verdict is supposedly the best leggo for pvp for ret, however I’m seeing ina thread here people saying it’s not.
Which would be best? Mad Paragon?
Thanks

There are options.
Reign of endless Kings + royal decree conduit adds a solid defensive save every 45 seconds. It’s probably the most impactful lego for ret pvp however it does have the potential to be nerfed or changed so ret can’t use it.
Final verdict is good vs monks and warriors because it allows you to cast your high damage finisher while disarmed. The extra 10 yards on your finishers can come in handy sometimes, but in my opinion it’s not really worth a lego slot just for that. Yes the animation is cool.
Sephuz is boring but it adds a decent chunk of damage to your 1 minute burst rotation assuming you HoJ your kill target. 10% cc reduction is also solid. This is a great pick all around.
Mad paragon is pretty good, it just adds more damage onto your burst window and it’s also great in pve so it’s a good pick.
Have you tried Uther’s Devotion? I would have thought with all the movement complaints people are having it would see more use. If you add Unbound Freedom to that, as well as the Echoing Blessing conduit it would alleviate a lot of the mobility problems. I know on a target dummy you can cut your Freedom down from 25 sec to 15 sec, but given the lack of contact you make with other players in arena it might be a lot worse.
In most scenarios Reign of The Endless King is best for 1 reason and 1 reason only: we don’t have many defensive CDs.
Mind you it won’t save you by itself, however there have been fights I’ve survived by saving up 3 holy power and using Royal Decree to pop off 2 WoG in quick succession. Mind you there will be fights where you shoot past 20% health and hit 0 immediately, however having any kind of defensive outside of bubble is a godsend in this meta.
Reign of Endless Kings and Sephuz are the best. I personally love FV a lot though, I miss you WoD Ret. Lmao, either way I have all 3 made.
Uther is hands down my favorite. Not even a competition. Rets downfall isn’t damage output, it’s uptime. This leggo plus the freedom PvP talent and the conduit that increases your movement speed for eight seconds after freedom ends on you AND whoever you put it on is absolutely priceless.
I haven’t tried it yet. It looks great on paper but it loses value if you can’t connect in the first place to spend holy power. It might be good in BGs
If you can’t connect with more mobility, you are never going to connect with less.
I’m saying there are times where you need to retreat to a pillar or you will die. You lose value on uthers when this occurs. It would be good in 2s I guess vs certain high mobility comps
But what made WoD ret so fun was Empowered Seals, not Final Verdict.
For me it was LAoTL and being able to zip around kiting people with that and emancipate + double blessings. The spec as a whole was just designed better.
I’ve been running with Final Verdict, swapped out from Mad Paragon but since I’m still new on the Paladin, fighting in 2s requires a lot more defensive. I’m hoping to have enough ashes to build Reign of Endless Kings this weekend to test it out. A lot of the time, outside the burst window, I see myself falling back to support as we’re running double DPS.
Just went up from 800-1200 last night. Attempting to push up to 1400 this weekend but yah, there’s a lot of high burst in 2s, lol…
Preferred Pursuit of Justice, more consistent, reliable and not countered easily by snares, roots and CC in general. And you can pillar hump with it.
Other than one or two things, Ret is basically near to being as good as its WoD iteration. Final Verdict should be baseline. Just make the Legendary a Hammer of Wrath proc chance when spending holy power.
Err NO!
100% this all day. Would love it so much.
