Wasn’t there a goblin in Ratchet that would restore professions or was that just if you decided to unlearn goblin engineering? Am I crazy? Was there ever an NPC that would do this for any profession or am I misremembering?

no no i’m not talking about the blizzard service, I’m asking about NPCs ingame who did something related to it.

There is no Blizzard service. That’s just the support article to tell you how to restore them. It says the following:
Professions may be re-learned from profession trainers in capital cities. When re-learning a profession, you will not regain recipes or skill points lost from abandoning the profession.
Oh hahaha. Thank you, sorry I saw blue and assumed it was a service. So yeah that’s not what I"m talking about as I vaguely remember regaining my entire lost spec at one point from interacting with a NPC. (including skill points)
maybe my memory is wrong though lol

LOL it’s okay. I always try to find support articles, because I figure they’re more accurate than me. 
That may have been an old expansion feature that was removed once professions were revamped.

I know in dalaran you can buy an item to restore an unlearned eng profession.

I lost my Goblin Engineering. I did not unlearn it. I already know a bunch of Goblin eng recipes.
I got my eng to 600 and tried to learn the last ones, but it wouldn’t let me. Thjen I noticed that I lost my specialization.
How do I get it back?
