Restoration and addons

Hail and well met Resto Druids!
I’ve spec’d into Restoration as I want to learn and play a healing spec. I’ve no aspirations of higher level content at this point. outside of maybe trying my hand at LFR.
My question is, are all the healing addons necessary at this point? I’d like to start with a well organized spell bar and heal by watching the group tab.
I want to begin leaning the spells and acclimate to watching the group health. Learning what buffs to pre apply and which spells are best for burst damage situations.
Am I limiting myself too badly with this approach?
I’m assuming as I grow, I’ll learn what addons would be helpful for my game play, but are there some simple base addons I should get to support my game plan?
Thanks all!

With addons, I think if you aren’t using it to help decrease the mental load, what’s the point?

The most basic addons I would recommend are something like Clique, Vuhdo, or Healbot. You can assign heals to mouse buttons and it helps peel off the mental load and stress of healing. There’s just too many buttons to play without it, in my opinion. The only other exception is DeadlyBossMods or BigWigs & LittleWigs just so you can easily pick up on cues and incoming damage.

A nameplate addon can tell you if there is an enrage you can soothe for trash and dungeon mobs, but it’s not critical if you’re doing something like LFR and just learning your healing buttons.

Thanks Brambles. I’ve been reading up on Healbot so I think I’ll load that up to start while I’m learning.

Do yourself a favor (imo) and get Vuhdo. Using the group tabs is just more difficult.

For what it’s worth, I’d say get Vuhdo and Luxthos’ Weakauras.

GTFO, Details, Sexymaps are also good. DBM is good.

It improves your quality of (play) life so much more, I think.
