Currently leveling my shaman and I was just curious what the better weapon slot is once hit 80? Staff? Or shield and 1h or doesn’t matter?
Whichever is higher item level is a good rule of thumb, followed by whichever has stats you prefer. Otherwise doesn’t matter, altho I prefer shield for M+. 1h+shield for PvP.
shield 100% for the armor – warmode on obv
For now, 2 handers arent bad since we care about just getting our ilvl up.
Ideally, if you plan on doing endgame content on the shaman (pvp/M+/raiding) I would suggest a 1H and Shield. The armor the shield provides is a good bit more damage reduction against physical damage in PvP, M+ and raid.
I wouldn’t touch a 2 handed weapon unless I had no choice due to higher ilvl and in PvE only.
Shields provide passive defense through armor and block, and there are also new shield imbue skills with elemental and totemic resto that can’t be used on two handed weapons.
