When it procs, I can see the tranquillity cast animation. Should I be stopping all casting while it’s doing its thing
Ideally you stop casting to use a time of the tranquil mind and change your essence.
What?? You’re confused
Vision of perfection isnt a particularly good essence to run thats what I mean
I prefer it as it’s major is a passive
I can’t help but wonder why in the world blizz would make a channeled spell covered under VoP major… Why not just make it tree without the talent like guardian? Sometimes I wonder about their decisions…
Or innervate.
Exactly! That would be far more useful, I can’t think of a single situation where you want a random procing channeled ability. It could completely destroy the flow of a spec.
Run any other Essence as a Major and just don’t map the action button, that way it’s like a passive. The minor for most essences would be generally better than VoP Major for rdruid. Maybe heavy rot fights would be a random exception.
OK, it seems the tranquillity effect still does occur even when casting. So I won’t need to stop everything when it procs. Just continue with rotation
It can even proc while you’re doing cat dps.
To actually answer your question, no you don’t need to stop casting when VoP procs.
Since the buff with 8.3, it’s not a bad raid essence to use just not the best. I tried it out my first night in heroic and when combined with the talent, it brings Tranquility down to a 1.6 minute cool down which isn’t bad. Overall the proc effect isn’t worth it in my opinion; it just doesn’t do enough HPS. If you’re going to run it, you need to run it specifically because your raid team is looking for really short big bursts of healing from Tranquility for a given a fight.
The essences you choose to run should be based around what’s best for your team and what your specific group needs are on a given encounter.
Reducing the cd on tranquillity is only useful if your raid has a need for it to be reduced. Most of the year raids have more than enough cds to cover major damage events anyway so we are better off with spring blossoms. Especially with as many stacked fights as we have.
Maybe for a fight like drastagath or whatever it’s name is where everyone is more spread it could be considered but still unlikely to be a winner.
I usually run lucid major because more mana = more healing when I want it and the leach it provides is like an extra defensive cd too.
I only recently got vop. My seeds, vitality and the azerite fireball are rank 3 with seeds being the major. Using vop to change some things. I do have 2 new 8.3 ones that gives bubbles and healing beam but they’re only rank 1
I chuckled irl
