Resto T1 6pc - still bad

“Reduces the cooldown on Tranquility by 100% and increases its healing by 100%.”

Okay, that’s cool and all, but even with no cooldown and double healing, Tranquility is still worse than Wild Growth.

-Costs 200 more mana

-Requires you to stand still and channel for 10 seconds

-It’s channel so it stops your mana regen (other than mp5 gear) until the channel finishes

-You can’t cast it on other groups in the raid, it only heals people in whatever group you are in. You’re stuck healing that group and only that group, while you’re channeling.

-It ticks every 2 seconds instead of every 1 second like wild growth

-It has a 20 yard radius, whereas Wild Growth is 40 yards

It’s just bad. It is outclassed by Wild Growth in almost every way. Was there ANY thought put into this 6-piece bonus? It legit just feels like they took the original vanilla bonus and slightly tweaked it without taking anything else into consideration. No resto druid is ever going to take 6 piece because it’s just so awful.

Suggestions to revamp this 6pc bonus:

-Tranquility now heals all party and raid members. Healing increased by 100%.

-Tranquility heals 5 random party or raid members every 2 seconds. Healing increased by 100%.

so don’t take 6 piece

druids only use the 2pc anyway so…

If your only defense of something is “don’t use it”, then it clearly needs to be fixed.

Yeah I agree, I don’t have any reason to use the 6pc on my resto druid right now, only reason I have it on is for FR gear lol. They should just at minimum make Tranq raidwide, maybe make it tick every 1 second to make it comparable to WG as well.

It’d be really OP if it was raidwide. With no CD on it you could just stand there channeling and healing 20 people at once.

I’d change it to be no longer group bound, but heals a maximum of 5 people per tick; randomly selects from anyone who is missing health (not a smart heal, just injured targets)

6-piece bonuses should be really powerful; this one is currently really useless. Blizz pls.

Wont be taking the new T2 6pc either tbh, really missed the mark. We’re stuck with crown from Az for a minute, have to take T1 2pc, and on top of that no way is it worth speccing into boomy to making all Tree’s into Boomies instead.

Not really. Tier bonuses are just that: bonuses. You aren’t compelled to take all of them, and if you really dislike Tranquility as a spell, then you’re not going to like bonuses that focus on it. That’s OK.

The current Tier 2 design appears to be that you can get T2 level stats but pick whether you want T1 set bonuses or T2 set bonuses. You can rock 2pT1 and 6pT2 if you want.

The Boomkin-Resto build would have you spamming Wrath for free to proc instant Healing Touches while you maintained insanely strong Wild Growth HoTs on whomever needed it. You don’t have to go that route if you don’t want it, since the 6pT2 buffs the spell by 10% regardless of form, but is an option if you want to be a DPS/Healer hybrid.

Holy Paladins have a similar set of options in their T2 being able to nuke with Exorcism, Holy Shock, etc, and heal their Beacon target based on the damage dealt. Shaman as well with Chain Lightning healing their Earth Shield target for Resto Shaman. Mages could always damage-to-heal as Arcane, and Priests have Vampiric Embrace.

Yes, and this “bonus” is godawful because of the reasons I listed in the OP post. So awful that there’s no point in even taking it. But no, it’s because I “really dislike” the spell, right?

AKA if you want to be an awful DPS and awful healer at the same time. There’s no reason to bring “hybrid” specs. Either go full DPS or full healer, not a weird low-output hybrid of both.

Tranquility is still a strong spell. You’re free to be angry about it, but there’s nothing wrong with the bonus.

Then feel free to be angry about your Tier 2 as well. There’s nothing wrong with a half-Heal/DPS build if that slot would otherwise be a full blown Healer.

Or do you just find Mage Healers de facto useless to bring?

It should either be raid wide or it shouldn’t be channeled and be castable on others. Similar to wild growth but a longer more consistent over time heal… Oh… Wait… We already have that. :thinking:.

Yeah, that’s my main point here. Tranquility is literally just Wild Growth but worse in every way. Less HPS, more mana cost, channeled, can’t be cast on other groups…even giving it +100% healing can’t save it.

Once again, blizz designs and implements something with seemingly 0 thought as to how it will actually function ingame, and we end up with a garbage useless set bonus.
