They literally did not fix any of the issues with the talents. They just added more to the mess… I wish I could pick the freaking talents I wanted but nope. They’re all two points
I agree in the sense that it still feels like we don’t quite have enough talent points to pick up everything we need. I think that if they were to free up even just ONE more talent point, it would go a LONG way.
But getting our S3/S4 DF tier back as a talent is actually pretty amazing. I’m genuinely looking forward to this.
Reviewing the tree a few times in the past month, and now even moreso today- it honestly just looks like the druid team had deadlines to meet and just threw some more stuff on there and moved on to the next thing…
Like give me one 6hr day, and a handful of people who want to make a great gameplay experience for rdruid, and we’d have a super solid first iteration for what rdruid needs I’d say.
i can no longer chose my fav combo on my resto druid, i can’t keep refosretation, germination and flourish at the same time, not without sacrificing convoke’s upgrade.
as if resto wasnt already bad enough now our choices are even more limited…
its not deadlines. They can fix this but the wow teams doesnt believe in balance. They believe in just rotating whos on top and whos on bottom.
since resto was quite viable last xpac , they feel its our turn in the basement.
Balance is a fallacy
I’m not about all that- I’m just saying, as an industrious business-oriented person who has to manage projects daily, and also having a good understanding of these talents in the tree, they look scattered as if there is no management going on, and they presented their presentation in crayon asap to meetin a deadline and move on.
but to be fair, its been 20 years and always been this way. who ever is at the bottom will get a taste of power right at the end of the xpac. Meanwhile those players have already stopped playing
feels better in keys i guess
feels worse in raid because of reforestation nerf (lol)
Pls just give us a mini rework instead of another two 5% aura buffs
One thing that has really taken me by surprise is Wildwood Roots. I really kind of brushed this talent off at first, but it’s actually pretty amazing. Having Regrowth cast time down below 0.5 seconds, it starts to feel almost like an instant-cast spell at that point. It’s almost unnerving in a sense, because it casts so quickly that I find myself double-checking to see if it even casted correctly or not in some cases. Combined with Forest’s Flow, Regrowth is an absolute powerhouse of a spell now.
I had to drop down to 1/2 thriving vegetation in order to pick up forest’s flow, but it doesn’t seem to matter much. In M+ at least, I’m casting Regrowth enough to have 100% uptime on the Regrowth HoT on all 5 people even without the extra 3 seconds from 2/2 thriving vegetation, and i’m mainly casting Rejuvenation to maintain a decent level of abundance stacks.
I’m playing around with Renewing Surge, because I think it has potential to let me get out more SotF Wild Growth casts, but I think I might just put that point into Improved Regrowth instead, to go along with the increased focus on that spell.
At 7 abundance stacks, with Improved Regrowth, that’s where I hit approx 100% crit on Regrowth, despite the fact that I have almost no crit on my gear at all. That’s trivial in M+. That’s just 2 Rejuvenation on me and the tank, and one on every other person, and Regrowth becomes an “I win button”.
The only real negative i’m seeing so far is increased mana consumption, both due to casting Rejuvenation more aggressively in order to maintain abundance stacks and due to casting Regrowth without clearcast procs (even with high abundance stacks, cheap is more expensive than free).
I’ve played my resto druid since Burning Crusade. In TWW, it’s just not working, not in a fun way. Buff our responsiveness, or rather, give it back. Percent healing buffs just dump into overheal in raid and don’t make up for dumpy cds in Mplus.
I’ve always felt 1 talent point short, even now. There is plenty I still can’t pick up even if they gave 1 more talent point but man. Too many 2/2 stuff I need to get.
Exactly…
WTB 1 extra talent point. I was looking at other healer specs and R druid seems to be the most point starved besides maybe Disc priest.
The Regrowth speed increase from Abundance in the raid build feels hilarious. Feels much better than when I was playing it a few weeks ago.
I thought Reforestation going from 3 → 4 Swifts would bother me, but I actually feel like it gives me more room to put Incarn in as a cooldown without potentially clipping the two together.
Haven’t tried it in keys yet, but I’m imagining Cenarion Ward with half the cooldown is gonna feel really nice for an extra layer on a tank eating busters or a DPS that gets targeted by mechanics.
Regrowth does feel strong. Even in 5 mans Abundance is insanely strong + the other regrowth buffs you can add. I haven’t found a way to keep Reforestation though
I might just do some keys without Reforestation to get a feel for it.
Actually, it doesn’t even look like you want to keep Reforestation at this point in keys? Kinda interesting.
The reforestation nerf just feels out of touch tbh. Its mostly a raid nerf where even after 18% of aura increased we’re still middle of the pact for raid healing.
Feels like they didnt read the tooltips; Nerfing reforestation like any healer is going to rotationally let their team get below 10% to move it foward 15 seconds with renewing surge. Maybe if renewing had a minimum CDR i could see it and prosperity having a big impact on reforestation uptime and buffing keeper a good bit, but as it is theres a reason resto just kept the nighthold bonus and skipped the tier 20 stuff, and they didnt fix any of that before making the 2 piece a talent.
Other then that i am enjoying how fast regrowth spam is with wildroots, still testing how much i like forest’s flow vs the 2nd thriving point but it turns innervate into a pretty good hps cooldown if you catch a clearcasting with it, 7 seconds of buffed cleave regrowths.
