Resto Shaman Mana in Arena

A nearly 9 minute 2s game at 2200-2300 rating where dampening has reached greater than 60% and the shaman has full mana. Having only casted 2 heals the entire game. My experience has been extremely similar. Shamans can sit there and spam hex (I do quite literally mean spam… DRing their own hex) with no penalty. Healing almost exclusively with riptide and earth shield.

Before it is said, I am aware that the game isn’t balanced around 2s. That being said, there are components of the game (like damage and healing) that are essentially universally balanced. What is this exactly?

playing twos hpal ww, our strat to most priests teams are OOMing the priest with training. when we get a shaman, its switching targets because theres no way a shaman get oom. they have control and purge and cant go oom. kinda unfair ton priests. its hard for an hpal to oom but i dont have much control compared to priests and shaman. i feel you

its funny how rsham and disc purge cost less mana than rdruids rejuv hot. this is no surprise when rsham is the only healer given mana utility back like water shield/mana tide meanwhile other healers were left unchanged. rsham too good

dang i bout to roll a rsham. The sham in that clip had to have just drank to full tho. I doubt riptide can heal thru an arms war with 50% damp

This isn’t new. They have water shield again. Shamans in the past have always have been very good on mana.

ya when they didn’t have a defensive dispel, any damage, or any CC lol

spam purge class that costs no mana and doesn’t oom completely counters mw/rdruid hots

? Theyve always had a purge, some damage, and cc? I’m not saying they’re OP but they have utility.

Purge is offensive dispel

Shamans used to be one of the healers without a defensive dispel, and in the past they only had CD hex (not spammable like now), lava burst barely did damage. Current iteration of resto is wayyyy overtuned in conjunction with their ridiculous kit

funny… cause i always have issues depleting my mana (not in arenas obviously cause the games are short as hell) But most of the times I need to be extremely efficient so i dont go dry when i run dungeons, raid or BGs.

Gotta love when people start whining about “overtuned” specs when they dont have a frickin clue about said specs …simpletons.

you realize rsham is the best healer in the game rn or tied with disc for that title. it’s def overtuned

this is feeling a lot like bfa s1 where u legit had to cast nothing besides riptide and unleash life

There might be an illusion of shaman not being that great because of the ladder. The ladder might be showing the people who rerolled paladin for s4 BFA. Not to mention paladin does best against melee cleaves, but once the casters take over later in the expansion shaman will be the best.

yep, restro some how dodged the nerf bat that hit everything else, must be nice to only cast instant HOTs and totems…

yeah Einstein, who depletes mana in arenas…? games don’t last more than 2 minutes. I literally said that in the comment you partially quoted.

If a shaman doesn’t go near mana depletion in an exceptionally long 9 min game its because the enemy team just sucks, and it shows that the enemy was able to survive the 9 minutes only due to healing. You have no clue what you’re talking about sally.

And btw that team from your video with the MW monk? Did they even use their CCs during the game at all?

Besides the fact that monk is the worse healer right now your boyfriend and his friend must really suck to end up 0% mana against 100%

Train shaman so he can’t keep water shield up and kill mana tide and it might go down, still really hard tho
