I am trying Hpal, but not having a lot of fun. How is resto shaman right now in M+¿
I’m currently pushing, up to +13 from 0 but it is tough. Our heals just feel week and I feel like I have to spam heals to be effective. Not fun. Resro shaman needs big buff to healing and damage. 447 ilvl
I feel like my rshaman pumps the most damage of all my healers (but, maybe I’m just more comfortable weaving damage with it compared to the others). But, it does feel like I have to spam and holy cow the mana issues are real.
So far hitting about 15s. 15’s I have to occasionally drink on select pulls.
13s I had no mana issues at all. Felt really good up through there.

451 item level last time I checked, when I’m not healing as hard as I can, I’m having to sit for mana. It’s an uphill battle for us right now, highest I’ve timed is a 16 so far. Your team makes all the difference. I’m debating pushing my holy priest or leveling a druid again, but I’ll probably just stick with shaman. We’re all masochists.
One tip I can give is to rely on CH basically as just a cool down. Don’t use it outside of HT/TB.
Rely on riptide, healing surge. And liberally use the rest of your CDs.
Healing numbers feel insane without any power jump.
I’ve hit 300k HPS for large trash pulls.
Sadly trying HST and HW and ST healing style and its going well.

CH is like 15-20% of my m+ healing atm
i am enjoying resto sham m+.
it’s very easy to comprehend.
currently i just keep as many riptides up with healing rain as much as possible, use hst whenever i have or am about to have 2 charges, and only use chain heal on targets who have a riptide which is about to fade (or at any duration in dire situations).
chain heal really drains the mana pool, so relying on regular heals while keeping up a steady stream of hots and hst (pun) is my style.
using cooldowns liberally seems to work, as most times i rarely need them.
i am comfortably doing 10s with a 463 crafted weap and mostly crap gear from last season.
I am not that big on flow of the tides, esp once we get new tier set.
I would also suggest only using CH when you have Tidebringer/High Tide up.
It’s hard to get away from Chain Heal. It still makes up ~25% of my overall healing in keys. Im still running T30 4-piece so I just make sure I keep Riptides up on everyone and use Healing Rain on CD and make the most of my Cloudburst.
I use my CDs as best as I can and run Spiritwalker’s Tidal Totem for the extra CD.
I’m 456 ilvl now but most keys (15-20 range) I ran at around 450 ilvl and was able to time about 2/3 of them depending on grp comp.
Healing keys is ok I feel but we are just missing a defensive tank external and our aoe healing still falls short to classes like Evoker.
I haven’t felt STT has been worth it. You often get spell casts under the gcd meaning you are waiting anyways. And the mana return is a joke.
Most healers have garbage mana return toolkits now. I mean what world did they see resurgence actually been good? It hasn’t been good in ages.
Resurgence been pretty good until S3.
MTT is ok enough for a raid where its hitting multiple healers. Sometimes. Maybe. But 8 seconds of 80% increased mana regen for just one healer (in m+) is just not good
Resurgence still gives me like 400k mana per m+ run atm.
I may switch out of it once geared but its helped me on a few pulls where I pop Cloudburst, plopped Healing Rain on group for Deluge, used MTT with STT, and spammed cheap and fast Chain Heals on AoE dmg to plump up the Cloudburst.
Doesn’t last long but it gives me an extra healing CD to rotate in for tougher pulls.
i’ve healed a few tanks which i swear were in dps spec, because holy crap do some of them get beaten around like a dying fish. some tanks really like to test the limits of healers with their ‘big pulls’.
joke’s on them; i enjoy a challenge.
even still, resto sham delivers. constantly critting for 100k to 300k, depending on their health %.
I just wish our 4 piece wasn’t basically useless in m+
Provide a log. I don’t believe you are hitting 300k with chain heal being 20% of your damage.
Large trash packs or not. Even if you put down cloudburst and hit ascendance get 5 riptides off, put down healing rain then spam healing surge you won’t hit those numbers more or less maintain them for any length of time. Throw 20% healing during cloudburst I still don’t believe you will get there.
I’m definitely hitting those numbers at peak hps with bursting and hard trash packs. Just takes like every cooldown and ability.
You’re forgetting what happens if people constantly plummet to low health so every healnis also getting max mastery
