Resto Shaman Arena Questions

  1. I’m dropping Ascendance when someone drops fast but I’m frequently seeing zero response from ally health bars. Is that normal? Am I missing something?

  2. [Spirit Wolf] + [Pustule Eruption] - Looks like the GW eats the charges. Should I worry about this? Or it’s better to start in GW than save charges?

  3. I’m noticing I’m not using [Unleash Life] much at all. Would you swap it out for [Torrent] or should I focus on getting UL off more?

  1. How many teammates are you healing with ascendance? Are you healing through maledicts etc.? Ascendance healing gets split between you and your teammates.
  2. I’d recommend running earthgrab in general over spirit wolf, and don’t use emeni, use plague deviser marileth - he’s better all around as a soulbind for resto.
  3. You should still use unleash life, you want to minimize casting when possible, so using the following combo is great instant burst healing:
  • Healing stream (to proc conduit for +healing)
  • Unleash life (does not use healing stream conduit charges)
  • Riptide
  1. I was doing 3s, and I usually do 2s, so maybe that’s the issue. Not sure what Maledicts are.

  2. I’ve heard this before, but there are some matches where I’m getting tunneled - esp. in 2s, where it feels like it helps. Healing+Mitigation+Speed feels like a safer play. is catching out the inviso crowd that great?

Thanks for the heads up on plague deviser marileth. I forgot where I read that emeni was the best, but maybe they meant for PVE.

I play night fae and enjoying it more then Necro.
Few tips: ascendance like link totem cast close to ur buddy.
Play with torrent; good talent if you stack crit.
Swap nature guardian when you play against priest always.
Last the flash flood; I personally don’t like to cast as a shaman so I pick cloud burst.
When you got tunneled try to escape and run around pillar let them chase you but if you’re unable to do it there should be ur teammate to help you out.
Meta right now is just to deal dmg and keep pressure. Don’t focus much on healing but on purging and flame shocking then lava lava lava hex

To add to this, it also has a range on it iirc.

Make sure they are somewhat within that range!

Emeni 100% best for pve because every time you use your covenant ability, it gives your party members a huge primary stat boost.

Unchained gladiator’s malediction = current season pvp trinket. It’s a channeled on use trinket that stacks a healing debuff. A dispel from a healer will remove it, but if you get CC on a healer + your teammates burst when you use it, it can be real nasty. Better strategy is to use them one at a time, baiting a dispel from enemy healer and then using the other two to force major defensive cooldowns. It works best in a comp with a spriest or lots of CC.

Marileth best for pvp because of added passive defensives. With him you likely won’t need spirit wolf (remember: ghost wolf purged = no spirit wolf).

I’d still run earthgrab, but not for pulling invis out. That’s a nice bonus, but the real reason is to do two things:

  1. Trap healers for an easy capacitor → hex
  2. Kite melee line of sight of their healers, and root the healer or melee

Earthgrab on its own won’t shut down the melee zug train in 3v3, but it can help slow it down a tad. Resto has such good instant healing that you can use casts to purposely get locked out, fleshcraft, and then root → kite.

Pretty sure ascendance has los and range so make sure you’re not doing either of those things when popping it.
