Trying to start into healing 2s and 3s. Anyone have any survivability tips? I seem to struggle most with mage/rogue. I can generally defensive through the first round of burst, but after they reset I feel like i or my partner get globaled through a kidney or poly. ive been using grounding totem to soak a gpyro, but its only a minor delay lol
You have to space out your cooldowns as best as possible. Against rogue/mage, you actually counter them. You have to play aggressive against rogue/mage because their playstyle is resetting. Your DPS has to be able to adapt to that and kill them before they cycle through all your defensive cooldowns. Make sure you have kidney shot on your omnibar because you can earthen wall before the rogue kidney shots. Use wind shear only on polymorph because they won’t kill you if you aren’t CC’d anyways. PURGE PURGE PURGE!!! You have to be able to purge the mage effectively as well and keep flame shock up on both of them if possible.
Thanks for the advice, ive actually been working on it a lot since last week and went 5-0 on rogue mage in 2s. Starting to get the hang on it, not good by any sense of measure at healing PvP, lol, but hopefully I’ll get there
I’m entering 2’s with a rogue partner for the first time ever today. I’ve never done a single arena before, and I’m really nervous about it. I’m so appreciative to OP for bringing this up. I will be checking for advice and watching videos, etc. while I try to figure out how it all works.
Just some info on what ive pieced together over the last few weeks. Like what the first comment said, manage you defensives and space them out appropriately. You really have to pay attention to the other teams kick cycles and manage your wind shear on priority interrupts. Purging is also huge. Good luck, stick with it! Despite rest o shamans being in a poor spot this season in comparison to others, I’m still having fun with it
Good luck with rogue/rsham! It is a really rewarding comp because you win based upon control. I played it to 2k in season 1 bfa.
Perhaps the most under rated things about that comp this season is the ability to stop casters such as destro locks and fire mages. Also, your combination of sap into a capacitor totem into a hex can create a lot of pressure from the get go. You also have a lot of utility to help your rogue escape if need be.
Let me know if you have any questions on strategy!
I will! I know I will. We’re getting a feel for things together, and the rogue is far more experienced than I am. He’s done a lot of arena work and is very familiar with my class/spec. I’ve never done them before, so it’s a lot of learning really quickly.
I love this forum, and I’ll definitely have questions. I so appreciate it.
Great!
good luck!
