Resto Form?

Anyone else think Restoration should have a form other then the glyph of Treant? I feel like it’s missing a unique part to the whole Druid Class??

Many moons ago, when the World of Warcraft was young, Restoration Druids used the Tree of Life form as their primary healing form. It had a number of benefits (increased healing abilities) and detriments (reduced speed and limited spells castable in form). While it has gone by the wayside, the glyph you spoke of is the appearance that TOL form took. Now, we have a cool down tied to Incarnation: Tree of Life that provides certain buffs, but none of the old detriments.

I enjoyed healing as a tree, but it is a LOT more convenient to heal in caster form like we do now. The game has changed so much since those days. It would be a massive change–and in many ways a nerf–to the way Resto Druids play now.

As Athonel said, it’s basically sacrificing quality of life for flavor. And people have various opinions about which of those is more important, neither of which is wrong. I love the quality of life bonus of not having to switch in and out of form, but I do miss the flavor.

Returning for Shadowlands after a fairly long break post Legion and just wanted to lobby for a proper resto druid form. I’m a long time resto main who still uses the glyph of the treant. Seeing the other forms get so many cool options, it’s really a bit of a bummer that resto doesn’t also get some love.

An easy fix would be to use the Tree of Life form as a Glyph. Art assets are already in the game including casting animations. That would make a great, easy way to give us some love.

New tree form and moonkin form would be nice. Doubt it’ll happen though

I don’t want a 5th keybind for a resto druid. 4 keybinds is good enought.

I prefer caster form.

If we had a perma tree form I could deal with it in pve I guess. But in pvp tree form just puts more of a target on our heads.

I didn’t play back then, but I’m actually content with the caster form we have now for Resto Druids. We have plenty of opportunities to enjoy our forms, particularly for DPSing in M+ or playing defensive with bear form. I also frequently off-spec, so I get my form fill through that. And please no more keybinds…having mount form decoupled from travel form was bad enough.

That said, I do get a lot of joy popping into Tree form to like “supercharge” my healing. It’s cool to be a big tree. It’s not cool to turn into a huge “plz kill me” target in PvP.

I wouldn’t mind it being an option though. I probably wouldn’t use it consistently. I like front flipping too much, unless the tree can do that too.

I would love to have the old Tree Form back with an updated model. Flavor>QoL.

One of the issues with Tree form, was that Resto Druids were able to be pin pointed out of a crowd in PvP and focused on instantly.

I think that’s why they lost their forms (or so I recall from reading). Makes sense. But still sucks.

I. Hate. Tree form.

It has a glowy green mechanic under it so it looks like you’re standing in poison,

It’s so fat that you can’t see other ground affects as well,

Stuck out like a sore thumb in pvp.

I’d be ok with it (not preferred, but compromise) if they want back to a much smaller trewnt version. But current tree of life imo is just actually detrimental to gameplay as far as viewing goes.

I bring shrunk potions to raids and keys just to help reduce this negative impact from TOL form. It may also hurt that I’m Tauren (still dreaming of smaller horde Druid races)-

Honestly part of the reason I stopped playing my druid in TBC was because of how much I hated having to be a tree.

I hope it’s only ever cosmetic.
