Resto Feedback: Adjustments From Beta

Assuming Blizzard is at small adjustments and tweaking stages this is my feedback for Resto if no class/spec talents get changed.

Overall

Haste: Doesn’t really feel that great on the spec other than the GCD. I’d like to see it effect abilities such as Healing stream more with CDR or other totems… Something. Stacking Mastery (and crit for PvE) for this long is… feeling old.

Totems: I’d like to see some of these totems get increase HP. I think a major QOL would be to maybe get rid of a 2 point node somewhere and have a node where when you move further than 40 yards away from an active totem the totem teleports to the shamans feet. Totemic projection to me is a tactical ability and having to use it as anything other than that… feels really bad. Especially when you need to drop something big on a pack or in a BG right when a fight ends or moves.

Spirit Link: I’d like to see this not be a reticle anymore and instead link our spirits to the totem like how Herald of the Sun has beams projecting out. Just have them link to the totem. The range can be lower to keep the game play similar.

Totemic: Bit heavy on the tuning knob nodes.

Healing Rain
The auto-rain is great but seems extremely RNG on location and lends to being a blessing or curse game play. I think the game models exists to instead make healing rain generate a small cloud above injured players head that rains. Acid rain can still follow the players and effect mobs or enemies within say 5-10 yards. M+, BGs and arena move really fast so you’re always out of the reticle rather quickly. Same things with raid mechanics.

Totemic Rebound: Include Healing Wave for ST interaction.

Oversurge: If there was an argument for making Ascendance a 2min CD, this ability is it.

Swift Recall: Make it reducing the CD of something more impactful like Healing Tide. There are already abilities for CDR on cap totem like static charge. Feels redundant.

Wind Barrier: Replace once every 30sec and tie it to healing stream. The re-charge on that is almost 30sec to begin with. Allows you to double down and blow both charges for 2x shield when needed/wanted.

Earthsurge: Here’s a perfect node to push for an update to earthen wall totem. It’s impossible to see on certain terrains, people run out of it and even with macro’ing pings to it… They still do. We need something as noticeable as a priest’s dome. Especially when recalling it and using it twice when needed.


Farseer: Again feels like there are a lot of tuning knob nodes here.

Overall: This feels like the go to for playing resto in PvP. I know a lot of the M+ crowd favors totemic for the AoE healing, so naturally I don’t have much to say about Farseer.

Ancestors: Do need to look a bit cooler.

Offering from Beyond: Make this reduce NS or UL or to keep Ancestors up more… or even just Healing Stream. I don’t feel like we need more CDR on Riptide. It’s 6sec and we’ll have the charges.

To Finalize: From a PvP perspective I don’t think these trees are bad. It seems obvious to me both of them were designed for Resto more than the DPS counterparts but I won’t comment on that as there are a lot of posts about them already.
