Resto druids in rbg!

What talents and rotation are people running in rbgs? Early Spring over Reactive Resin? Are you guys focusing on using wild growth with 1 lifebloom on yourself the whole time to benefit from photosynthesis? I can’t seem to work out how to increase my heals and I’m continuously being out healed by some other classes!

I am pretty happy with my set up in randoms. I don’t do rated. I throw wild growth out all the time, I use the pvp talent to make it instant. Lots of wild growths will burn through mana quickly.

Druids get out healed because of the way HOTs work. If you have a player that is 50% and you throw your hots on them, they will get healed by another healer making your hots a waste. Get your hots out early and lifebloom yourself and another player. Inevitably you will hot players that don’t end up taking much damage so you don’t pump the healing numbers as much.

If your teammates are alive after an scuffle, and you are using your cool downs when needed - you are doing all you can.

Just my opinion - I think resto druid is completely useless unless they are in tree form. Even then, ironbark is the only real defensive that can save someone from dying. Healing numbers are pretty low overall.

That’s a loaded question with no quick reply. Some small tips:

-When heading to a teamfight (when everyone is grouped up) I will dismount before the fight and throw out a wild growth. This way I get my full bloom from early spring (it lasts 30 seconds) and wild growth will be back up by the time the team fight starts. Your full bloom will output a ton of AOE healing

-Tranq is a massive AOE heal. In arenas tranq is great as a bubble or to block CC but in BGs I use it to counter big offensive cooldowns from the enemy. If theres a ton of aoe pressure going out like dk/lock/boomy etc, tranq can pump out crazy numbers

-Verdancy does a lot of healing in BGs. I pair verdancy with spring blossoms (the talent for efflo). Anytime a lifebloom blooms it heals people inside your efflo. It does a surprising amoung of healing + spring blossoms adds a small hot to people which gives an extra mastery stack. Not without it’s downside though as people don’t stay in efflo or even look for it

-When lifebloom ends on a target it blooms. Alternatively, if you re-apply lifebloom with less than 3 seconds left your lifebloom will bloom. This is great so you don’t lose the extra healing from budding leaves + focused growth. If the target with your lifebloom is still taking damage, re-apply it rather than waiting for it to fall off and add it again. You can also get more verdancy healing this way

-Use your soul of the forest intelligently. If everyone around you is taking loads of damage, swiftmend/wild growth. If one target is consistently the focus, swiftmend/rejuv them. If someone is about to die and they need a massive heal, swiftmend/regrowth them.

Lifebloom is always my top heal. For heavy AOE/rot comps my wild growth/tranq will be next. For heavy burst/single target comps my rejuv/germ/regrowth will be next.

Reroll MW or evoker if you want to play a throughput healer :upside_down_face:. Almost every team i face has 2 evokers and a mw monk or sometimes a disc priest. Evoker is so overtuned that even if you play perfectly, they will out heal you.

Resto druid has been very poor in rbg’s in my games. Healing output is OK, but I OOM so, so fast. I literally just prioritize the melee in every fight and prehot and blow defensives even if I see them taking no damage. It feels really bad tbh and I don’t enjoy it at all.

Tranq is the best ability you have for the initial part of the game. Tree is fine. After those things are gone, you’re dead meat.

Druid is a pro-active healer, trying to heal people that are already badly damaged is just something druids aren’t good at. Keep your hots rolling on people when you’re even close to engaging in anything.

Resto is really tough in a burst/spread meta, where both of those things are impossible to deal with given the damage that assa rogue, feral, loc are doing. There are many classes that can just tunnel through your healing, even with barkskin up and in tree form. If you get a rogue with death mark, and another DPS on someone, it doesn’t matter how many cooldowns you blow, they’ll just die.

Some r Druids do really well. It’s just that over 1600+ everything gets super meta. So the healers are evoker, disc and mw. Sometimes double evoker. My main is a disc priest and I generally get an invite even tho I’m not a fat chunky throughout evoker healer.
But below 1600 I see lots of rdruids and they do big numbers but leaders often say it’s a lot of padded heals and not great in the burst y melee comp teams

In RBGs Rdruid is near the bottom for healers. MW, Preservation, and Disc all occupy the top right now.

I’m making an Rsham and I’m seeing some Rsham really produce big numbers. They probably need more peels but I’m hoping they get a boost in some defensives
