why is my resto druid running out of mana so fast? I’m 175 ilvl currently, and I feel like my mana goes down fast. I use regrowth spam a lot and boy, does that cost my mana. Anyway to fix this issue?
I wish I could help, but I took one look at the Resto Druid kit this patch and was like, “nah, I ain’t bothering to learn that”. The kit looks awful, but I hear other Druids are having success.
Healing is just more difficult now and you have to be better.
MW says hi
I am sure that is definetly the case for Resto Druids. Other than Wild Growth, I see no healing tool they have that is not outclassed by another existing healer. I am left wondering how some Druids are claiming success.

Are you joking?
Regrowth spam is your issue. You’ve got Nourish to fill in gaps, Widl Growth uses a lot, as well, so try not to spam that too much.
Tanks just keep all HoTs on them and roll Nourish. Don’t forget about Iron Bark, very useful.
I’m testing out Flourish this time around and debating how much I like it. And Convoke is your best friend when the whole group messes something up.
I rarely run out of mana so far. Unless the group ignores mechanics. Then that’s when Tranq and Convoke get used. I don’t really lose people, so I guess I’m doing something right for the time being. lol
No? Riptide and a Priests Renew heal more than Rejuvenation. Healing Rain is better than the Mushroom. Every healer has single target heals. I guess maybe Lifebloom, or whatever it is called, is special… But a fast ticking HoT is hardly something to write home about. I guess there is their CD, Tranquility, but, like other healers get raid healing cooldowns too… I just do not understand Resto Druids. I have always struggled using them compared to other healers.
Blasphemy.
All about that abundance life.
Mother tree proc on rehuv especially in 5s boosts regrowth a ton amd cheapens its cost
Plus nourish is just a really bad talent choice.
For me i find it better to slow down in raids to watch mana a little more. Cycle tree of life+ self innervate to spare some mana.
Then rely on convoke as a cd.
Finally, cant forget about the channeling mana regen potion. Those are crucial
All healers require smart mana usage. You can’t just spam the strongest heal over and over and expect to have full mana. If you’re forced to do that then your group sucks
spamming regrowth should only be a last resort sorta thing. I also save convoke and trank for “oh crap” moments . I tend to throw flourish and ironbark on tank right away and efflroessence down , then watch the dps 's health . doing this usually keeps the tank in good shape until the pull becomes more managable assuming its a good group. I can usaully go 3 or 4 full pulls without having to drink.
There’s your problem. Stop doing that. Regrowth should be used very sparingly for spot healing. Rejuv, Efflorescence, Wild Growth and Swiftmend should be your core healing spells.
e - I meant Lifebloom, not Wild Growth, though obviously that’s good too.
The correct use of florish:
- Wild growth + rejuve memory trigger(if running that legend) +florish
<do this once every 3 mins> - Always have a flourish for tranquility.
Tranq + wild growth + rejuv memory trigger + flourish.
Rejuv triggers replaced with regrowth if pump healing is needed.
Flourish is amazing but should always pair with tranq 100000% of the time. Its too good not to do
- have correct talents.
I prefer cenarion ward, soul of the forest for dungeons.
abundance and tree of life for raids.
Don’t spam regrowth to a single target unless they are below 20 percent.
always apply reju to no max hp players. Keep cenarion ward, lifebloom on tank. have efflo on ground always (i prefer under tank) .
You may drink between pulls. You can’t enter a dungeon and finish it without drinking in SL. Use your innervate efectively.
Eh, I wanted to try it out. I always try out the new stuffs for a while before I finally find what works for me in what content. I’ll most likely go back to Abundance, though. It’s too awesome. But for now, I’ve found Nourish useful. So I’m not disagreeing with you.
Some good setups/tips as a resto main:
- Find a cooldon addon. I have one set up that tracks to HoT on lifebloon so i can know immidiately if its up, how long left, and who its on.
- Use rejuv/lifebloom to start on your tank and maintain those.
- For me swiftmwnd seems to take regrowth hot first. Keep in mind which hot swiftmend is consuming and reapply.
- Regrowth spamming only works if you captialize on abundance talent.
- Set up a macro that uses natures swiftness then casts regrowth. Its a 1 minute cd. Use it every time its up.
- Flourish is too good not to use. Use it with tanq. See my above comment
- Convoke and tree of life+self innervate are good cooldowns that dont require mana. Use th to help save yourself some.
- Try to always have your circle up hitting the most amount of people. Its okay to move it around a bunch to get the most effect.
- In raids, dont heal everyone. Kind of step back a bit and let other healers take some pressure too. Its not just you. I like to focus on some people that i think the other healers are not. Its kind of like unwritten healer code. We all look after the tank and each other, then each has our own dps.
Thats just some things
I’m going to repost this for my guild member who is Resto main, but struggles, if you don’t mind! I like your tips!
Don’t use regrowth spam?
