I’ve been playing my priest for a long time which is my main but I’ve been told several times that Druids are just better because of everything they bring with their mobility, healing cd, Innervate, etc etc. I feel like the mobility alone was worth lvling my druid which is now 115. But now I’m seeing comments about Druids not being very good. I’m just getting confused. Are people just complaining to complain now or something?
As far as raid healing goes, druids are not better than Disc or Holy, by any means. As far as M+ goes, theyre “better” because they bring a brez, have good survivability and are able to dps better than a holy priest, but not better than a disc priest.
Some peope, including myself, say resto is not in a very good spot right now because outside of tranq, our healing is somewhat lackluster. Idk about all resto druids, but i know my tranq in raids makes up 25-40% of my total healing depending on the fight. In dungeons you really have to rely on your dps to play well because you cant keep them alive as easily as a MW for example.
Relative to legion, our hots take an extremely long time to bring someone up unless you pile 4 or 5 on the person taking damage, Rejuv used to be able to heal people up without much else needed. Were expected to use regrowth alot more in dungeon content and it isnt really flowing well because regrowth does a relatively small amount of healing for the mana cost. Were extremely mana inefficient and rely on our mastery the make our heals heal more. But mastery numbers are extremely low right now.

I typically feel average in raid healing compared to the other healer options. As long as I’m rotating through healing cooldowns (flourish, tranq, tree) I feel quite useful. In mythic+ druids are well represented in high keys which indicates they are desired and doing well enough. I personally never have an issue doing my weekly +10 except for maybe on tyrannical overseer korgus in Tol Dagor.
Directly comparing druid to priest. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say holy priest is probably best for raids and disc is best for well organized push groups in mythic +.
