Resto druid in M+

As someone who played resto druid in M+ in season 1, I’m reflecting about the difference between seasons and while healing is no doubt much easier this season, I’m having difficulty differentitating between how much of season 1 difficulty was resto druid being weaker and how much of it was the dungeons being harder.

What do you guys think? Do you think it was mostly the dungeons being easier or resto druid being stronger? I’m guessing maybe it’s something like 60-40, where it’s mostly the dungeons being easier/resto druid being stronger. What sticks out in my mind about season 1 was just how little hots healed. While they aren’t crazy even now, they seemed like they did absolutely nothing in season 1. Also the tier set this season feels significantly more impactful than season 1’s tierset.

Mostly spec for me. I think Season 2 resto would have done fine season 1 even with their harder dungeons, and late season 1 resto would be fine with the easier tunning of season 2, but that it was the spec changes starting with 11.0.5 that made it possible, and pre-0.5 resto would still be struggling even with the current dungeon/raid tunning.
Adding baseline clear casts, wildroots, cenarion wards % buffs, and forests flow felt like the turning point for the spec. Season 2 just carried that forward with better gear, a synergistic tier set and the light buffs we got along with the mastery rework.
