Resto Druid and their HPS

Yep, Rdruid is the de-facto proactive healer.

regrowth spam? lol

Thats kind of my point. If you have everything on them and they take burst damage, you’re kind of screwed. There’s nothing else you can do but sit there and maybe tell them that it’s not your fault they died anyway.

:man_shrugging:

That’s not really going to fly in most cases.

Ironbark, Cenarion Ward, Regrowth, Nature’s Swiftness…

But yeah there’s going to be a point where you can’t heal stupid. Will be the same on your Sham.

On my Shammy I can spam heal stupid (and save the day) much better than on my Druid.

Healing Surge spam is not more effective HPS than a full row of hots.

Sure but you can’t just apply more HotS once they are on there and ticking.

You can still use Regrowth even if the Hot is there. Yes its ineffective mana-wise and should only be used in emergencies… but so is spamming Healing Surge.

If you play with Soul of the Forest it crits for close to 10k if you Swiftmend into Regrowth, on top of refreshing all your HoTS if you play with Verdant Infusion. Not any different than using Unleash into Healing Surge.

Like… my point isn’t to bash you, if you’re comfortable on Sham by all means play this. But i play both and don’t feel Rdruid is unplayable in any way or Rsham is flawless.

Its not me being “bad” at my Shaman either. I have good parses in both M+ and Raiding.

Just trying to help.

Like just try this, and i’m really just taking the time to help here. Switch to Moonkin Affinity, i know high end Rdruids catweave, i watched Jdot play, but for now its not something i’d worry about. Play ol’ Moonkin affinity gives you extra range on your healing which might save someone. Switch to Soul of the Forest, Cultivation is a dead talent slot, switch to Flourish, switch both of your Trinkets because they’re completely terrible. Buy the Darkmoon Card Trinket, even if its lower Ilvl it will be more useful and give you an extra bit of burst healing, for the second one, just try to find either a static Haste one or one with a Haste proc, 2 good options are the PvP trinket, or the trinket called Unbound Changeling from Mists of Tirna Scithe.

Also try to enchant your gear with Int and Haste, every little bits help and Haste is life for you.

For the Soulbinds/Conduits, play Dreamweaver with Flash of Clarity and Unstoppable Growth as your potency conduits (rest doesn’t really matter). Stand in the Haste Rune after using Convoke.

If with these changes your Druid still feels bad, then yeah maybe look at something else.

Restoration druids are on the tippy top as far as throughput goes.

I know I’m posting on a Druid with no real raid experience, but as a mistweaver main, if Rdruid gets fixed before MW, I think Im perma done healing.

Ngl, i don’t have a lot of hope for them at least this expansion. They need to give them a real identity instead of being that big jumble of mechanics from every other healers.

Sucks as its actually the spec i learned to heal on during MoP.

Ironbark, swiftmend, NS regrowth. There’s plenty you can do. Stack hots and regrowth spam is big heals.

This has always been rDruid’s play since they actually became viable to bring to group. Perhaps the small uppercrust of players wouldn’t bring them to raid, and the clowns who follow, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t perfectly fine to play. That’s never been an opinion I have ever seen, though. rDruid has been pretty damn good for a long time.

You do need to be changing talents, which is a pain, and grievous weak is pretty much a “haha, no” for my druid. My group knows I don’t have the “oh sh*t” heals for days, and I let my co-healers handle that.

It’s not the rDruids job to be reactive, we’re proactive.

Okay so I have been making these changes for Mythic+ run and it’s like night and day. My HPS hasn’t increased any but during those high burst moments it’s been significantly less stressful, especially with Cenarion Ward to help out in those moments where I would have normally have hit ToL.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll definitely be switching talents depending on the situation now.
