Resto druid - a rant about devs taking a paycheck for this

These devs have given us the worse resto tree there’s been because they just haven’t put any effort into it and aren’t held accountable.
So we’re all nice in here with our data-driven wants and needs…
Radio silence from the people who are paid to work on this game…

But If WoW players get really colourful with their feedback because clearly nobody is listening, then what, it’ll be “toxic fanbase” according to anyone who’s not a resto druid, completely ignoring the actual problem: incapable devs.

It’s just really the ick that normal people who scrape by during a housing crisis and food price hike can lose their jobs if they’re not giving 110% at their crappy jobs.
And then there’s these devs who straight up intentionally frustrate players by underdeveloping a game they charge a high fee and monthly sub for, resto druid and in other ways, and generally could not possibly work anywhere I’ve worked without getting themselves fired…

And every single content creator who lands an interview with Ion or other devs or producer, absolutely cannot ask “tf are you doing?”, as they continually want access to the privilege of partaking in sitting in a room of people who never work a day of their lives pretending that everybody in this room including the cowardly content creator, is doing a great job at something.

So it’s fine to be critical of the state of the game, and Blizzard as a whole for allowing it to get this way. But calling out the devs, suggesting they shouldn’t be drawing a paycheck, is almost certainly not the right way to go about it. The reality is that most devs are going to do the best they can, but decisions made by management on the direction, prioritization, and time they’re afforded can make it impossible to produce good work.

Be mad at whoever is making the prioritization decisions all you want. But suggesting the devs don’t deserve the paycheck they’re making when at a minimum you can’t possibly know what’s causing the break downs, is honestly pretty digusting.

it comes down to management and game philosophy in my opinion…neither are very good at the moment…so some areas of the game are suffering badly.

I understand where OP is coming from, especially as a consumer. If you feel like the product you’re paying for has gotten worse over time, and when you try to communicate, you’re ghosted from the staff - it does makes modern blizzard come off as arrogant and mean.

That’s why I don’t really go out of my way to defend this studio as much anymore. Don’t think Ion has once stuck to any of the “changes” he’s promised when it comes to communication and quality.

I rest my gd case :woman_judge:t4:
