I know cloudburst is usually the go to in the row and maybe even FF at times, but i never hear DP mentioned. Is it really far and behind the other 2? I know theres an ally cap, but at least the healing isnt split. Has anyone tried it? Thanks in advance.
I don’t think the spell is bad by any means, it just fills a very strange niche. The other two talents shore up a weakness resto has (single target and spread healing) whereas this one just doubles down on what resto is already good at. If you wanted to really lean into your stacked healing, I think it could be a really solid option. But in most cases, using chain heal will get the job done just as well, if a bit less efficiently.
I’d be curious to see if it sees more play in shadowlands, just because all of our spells cost more mana now. Filling up a cloudburst totem take a lot of mana, whereas replacing chain heal casts with downpour casts could extend your mana pool.
Downpour can still pull it’s own weight when it comes to healing. Again, hammering home that not only will spells cost more, but the stats being crunched means mana restoration through crits will be severly reduced.
Cloudburst requires you to know when things will be bad in the future. Downpour helps in the now. Both have their uses. Both work well.
If you dont wish to cloudburst, feel free to downpour. You wont be crippled beyond belief for not taking cloudburst.
Thanks guys. Ive been kinda wanting to check it out. As yall can see, my gear isnt great by any means. I do love cloudburst, but i also loved my artifact weapon spell from Legion too. Appreciate the input.
