I tried to catch the “Restless Shadeling”-Pet in Deadwind Pass today. Looking at wowhead, I found out that the pet spawns from Midnight to 9 AM Server Time. I waited from 1 AM to 3 AM and didn’t see a single one of them.
Instead I saw the demons from the Legion-Event around Karazhan, while in some of the guides it seems the zone should be filled with undeads. I tried it with different characters. Max-Level, Low-Level and characters that have never been to Legion. Still I only see demons in the The Master’s Cellar, some of them with Boss-Level Icon.
Is this a phasing bug? Has someone captured a Restless Shadeling in the last few weeks?
Not server time anymore. It’s now Pacific Time at midnight.
Blizzard being based on West Coast had adopted Pacific Time as a standard for lot of time-based happenings.

Sorry I forgot to mention, that I play on EU-Germany. It would surprise me, if we have the same spawn times here for pets as in the US. But it also seems impossible for this one. Looked right now at 4 AM Pacific Time and still only some Arkane Eyes there. Some people confirmed spawns based on GMT, but I tried this one as well.
My guess is that I have to somehow go back to a pre-Legion phase, where the zone is filled with undeads instead of demons. But I have no idea how to do this.
Here on a U.S. realm, I stationed a bored 50 mage alt in the Master’s Cellar and sure enough, promptly at midnight Pacific Time (0800 GMT) Shadelings all over the place. So still happening, here at least.
Couple years ago when question raised about whether they still happened, did some checking over time and once noticed a few Shadelings still up 3 hours later. Seems they don’t have a limited lifespan but eventually will get farmed. And looks like players looking for a Rare still killing the non-rares in hope that a Rare might spawn, which never happens because they don’t respawn.
