Can we have restitution in a more accesible part of our talent tree?
All Holy priests love this effect, it has been very popular since it’s introduction in Legion and it makes one of our most useless unique abilities (Spirit of Redemption) an actual characteristic design of our spec which comes in touch with our description “Heal beyond the grave”
If we could also get to pair it with afterlife it would give Hpriest some very needed utility in the form of a Brez without giving us an actual brez creating an interesting and fun mechanic to play around between dying and bringing people back to life.

Yeah, ideally it could be spun off on its own node to widen the bottom selections of the tree, preferably without a 2 point node guarding it.
Realistically, a few patches from now it will be removed because nobody took it, even if it was popular at one point. That’s been the theme with several talents across several classes, lol.
It is ignored pretty much because of it’s location.
I remember in Beta Dragonflight, when it was at the top section, it was pretty much a must pick and it’s a unique and fun effect which would give holy some iconic and different utility which I think the spec kinda needs.
Hopefully it’s not removed and integrated into the spec design. Spirit of Redemption is in the list of best looking and interest effects but it is an old ability now and has lost a lot of value through the years.
This talent brings the effect up by a lot
I think its spot is fine. It should be a capstone. It’s super cool and used to be insanely powerful. In legion it was bis because it reset your mana potion so it was worth a ton of mana. I think they just need to add something to it to make it rightfully a capstone, people like it, they just don’t take it because it’s awkward to use and numerically bad. But its deserving of its position on the tree imo and people would absolutely take it if it were a bit more competitive.
I honestly think any of the following would make it quite viable:
- Make it an active button so I can actually press it on will without trying to find some mechanic to die to (that wont kill me when I rez) and watch all my fellow healers blow every external on me when I’m actually trying to die.
- Add a healing buff to it, maybe it could sync with the Archon Tree and like reset Halo, or you generate Halos over the duration (that’d go super hard). Or it benefits from Perfected Form.
- Just add a flat healing increase to it, like you get +15% healing during it
Bullet 1 should be done regardless. It’s insane it’s not able to be triggered on will. Bullet 2 would be super thematic. Bullet 3 would allow it to be takeable by both Archon and Oracle.
Not sure about adding a 2nd cd transformation for holy priest. We already have Apotheosis and we already have a tons of buttons to press, adding another cd feed the button bloat.
I don’t get tho why it’s deserved the position when, as you said, numerically is awful and the interaction is hard to proc. Miracle worker is in fact insanely better, used to be capstone, and now it’s in a more accesible spot.
Like doing a high key without Lightweaver/DI/Divine word is just a loss. You need the healing of those talents and Restitution does not make up for it even with the buffs you mention, talents that buff you when you are alive are just overall better in mid-high content.
Right now in that spot is a dead talent no matter what, only works in PvP arenas and everyone hates it there.

In a Raid environment I think you’re misled on how much value some of your talents are providing atm. I’ve gotten World Rank 1’s running Restitution. It’s like 5-6%~ behind alternatives. Allowing a person to sacrifice the death protection for the free casting of mana, or increased range, or healing increase would put it just a couple percent closer to other talents which is probably all it really needs to be a viable option.
In Mythic+ sure it’s kind of atrocious. The 10 min timer almost always gets burned on a full group wipe and then it’s useless. As a healer, rarely do you die without it being a full wipe. Yet again though if you had control to just use it as X seconds of free casting to ignore mechanics… There’s a lot of practical uses. It’s just you can’t do that because you have no control over it atm. Most things that you can die to to proc it take too long, and will also kill you again when you rez, so it’s useless without player agency.
I really don’t think it needs a lot, or needs to be relegated to a lower tier talent. It’s good in theory, but almost impossible to use in practice. Just needs a minor numbers bump for raid and some player agency.
