Restitution for belves

Possibly.

However, I was one of those that asked for natural hair colors so I can’t complain there. But only black and white.

Expect to see blonde Void Elves all over the place :eyes:

In Blizzard’s defense, this was likely a case. The first Void Elves are the ones rescued from that forced transformation. However, this transformation was not something the Void Elves were looking for when they studied the Void.

New Blood Elves have been joining the Void Elves, therefore keeping their skin intact is possible as they don’t go through that ritual.

Making it that any race can just go to the Void Elves and ask for training, yes.

Blizzard wrote themselves into a corner the moment they made the Blood Elves shun that study, locking the doors for the Horde Elves to also get the Void Elf customization.

I’m just sad that what’s being focused on is the High elf customization and nothing void, but I don’t want to look like a Blood Elf either.

Even better then, I would say! I know they originally planned on Vry’kul having the vampire theme, and in Island Expeditions, they have some really powerful blood spells. They expanded upon the vampire lore in Lich King, naturally. I didn’t know of the Vanilla aspect though, that’s neat.

Edit: Also, bringing back the Blood Queen would make me so happy. I doubt it’ll happen, of course. But they brought back Kael, so… sigh (some have proposed bringing Kael back to Azeroth as Blood King, granted.)

The Blood Queen Lanethyl is the best source to build Sanlayn/vampire lore around in my opinion. that she was a KT ally ties in well with Kirtinos being the Herald of KT.

You’re not wrong.

Says the faction which literally got an outright cloned Horde race.

What I would love to see happen honestly, is Sylvanas pull the Forsaken from the Horde, remove them to Northrend, take ICC as their own. Then discover the Blood Queen has been secretly gathering the Sanlayn there and have an all out war between the Sanlayn and Forsaken. The best Queen wins… and in this scenario Sylvanas loses and finally gets the peaceful afterlife she sought when she originally yeeted herself from the ramparts above ICC.

Blizzard decided the most popular race should be ubiquitous. As a reminder, you only got Belfs because your faction was low pop. If we’re entitled for getting Velfs, what should we think of you who got a faction bailout by stealing a WC3 alliance race?

I find it absolutely hilarious how some Alliance players (note, I said SOME) begged…and begged…and begged… for high elf options and non-goth elves… got what they want… and suddenly are like “BUT VOID ELVES ARE THE GOTH THEME” when goth isn’t a ‘theme’ reserved by any faction. It’s VOID. Undead are on Horde.

It’s illogical, and frankly ridiculous. People can continue to try and shove ‘light themes’ all they want, but guess what… the LIGHT is with Lightforged Draenei, so that theme is ‘already taken by the alliance’. So now it’s a bunch of backwards arguments from Alliance players saying this anyway.

No light themes for blood elves. We need themes that actually were the draw for blood elves in the first place, not some sparkly nonsense.

Let undead choose any race.

Let undead pick a blood elf model.

It makes sense.

This would be fine, but we’ve never seen a toggle like that. There’s the straight back options for orcs, but never an entirely different model. I guess worgen could count for something like that as an example, but… I dunno. Shrug

Why is this such a big deal? There are plenty of blonde hair blue eye elves that help out the Alliance. At this point the elves are pretty much just Pandaren, where there are many of the same type loyal to both the Horde and Alliance. They just identify by a different heritage like the Tushui vs Huozon or whatever.

Blood elves aren’t losing their identity. Horde elves who like that side of the story will stay there. As will the Alliance void elves.

Agreed, Since the latest round of wars Sylvanas has been able to raise many races so it’s time for new racial options for Forsaken.

Also let Sylvanas remove the Forsaken from the Horde, let the elves remove themselves from Horde and Alliance. Each becomes its own faction and players decide who they want to play with.

edit - i would also like to see a return to the more dead looking Forsaken skins. Why did they have to update them to be so glamorous and pretty? They are dead, decaying husks…

This doesn’t make sense, as the Blood Elfs were just cleansed of their need to feed off of other magic since the Sunwell was reborn with the Light.

I believe they need tattoos that should not go to Void Elfs. Give them Light and Arcane tattoos. Make them shine like Lightforged ones.

I also believe they should be taller now. Give them a difference and make them somewhere in between what they are now and what Nightborne are in height.

Would it be so hard to do? It would enrich the game and not affect lore at all. Undead SHOULD be able to pick their race. It would be epic and logical. Players would absolutely love it. No game has this. WoW needs to start leading with POWER.

Firstly, the Blood Elves left the Alliance before Warcraft 3, and Warcraft 3 drove home why Silvermoon would never return to Alliance.

Secondly, if you bothered to look at the Warcraft timeline and counted the years… Silvermoon was (and is) allied with the Horde longer than it ever was with the Alliance.

(The Elves only joined in Warcraft 2 and this was only because they had to honor an ancient oath they made to Lothar’s ancestor.)

AND… the Elves were with the Alliance of Lordaeron, not the Alliance of Stormwind.

Wonder which faction has Lordaeron?

…the Horde. So I suppose we could argue that Silvermoon did rejoin with Lordaeron.

Do you really want a low quality character model, like the Night Elves? I even find the NB aesthetics and model fairly superior to them. They bounce too much and look nothing like their artworks.

I think you missed when blizzard wanted to give races more options to look like other races because it’s more efficient rather than always creating a new allied race each and every time, for example:
Giving regular dwarfs wildhammer tattoos
Giving regular trolls sandfury troll skin and tattoos
Giving void elves more look to resemble more of high elves that players have been wanting
etc.

I can’t answer that. I would personally prefer Blood Elves to get the customization if it’s to be customization, but I’m not entirely opposed to this idea. Whether it’s hard to do… I don’t know. Subraces have always had an allure.

then why did you get night elves shoe horned into the alliance in vanilla instead of blue eyed blood elves if theres so many
