Respectfully, Blizzard doesn't understand Warrior

There’s a lot of posts not being concise enough or getting overly mad (understandable), but Blizzard just fundamentally doesn’t understand dps warrior.

Fury is bottom 5 all dps specs for single target.

Fury is lower, middle of the pack in aoe.

The only area Fury currently excels in is very short and fast burst damage which is where the nerfs are directed.

What is fury warrior meant to be good at now? It’s a very low utility spec so surely it should be good at doing damage right?

If it’s going to be the “5 target cleave” spec then it should be significantly stronger on sustained 5 target cleave than others which it is currently not even close. In-fact, we now return to the age old problem of uncapped aoe specs being better than warrior in all target counts.

Even on packs when you use all your cds, Fury is consistently outclassed by Frost DK, Enhance, Ele, Marksman, Ret, Assassin, Arcane, Demo, etc etc etc.

Sure Fury is good at blasting adds that have 0 hp and only matter for like 3 guilds in the entire world. Sure, Fury is good at Heroic dungeons. Is this who we’re balancing the game around?

Maybe it has nothing to do with understanding, maybe they just like the other classes more and don’t want warrior to be competitive.

Blizzard has a “vision” of how they want each spec to perform when doing content, and unfortunately they don’t really care what the rest of the community wants. The Warrior developer seems to be extremely bad at his job, because he sees Fury performing extremely well on trash mobs in the raid and conveniently forgets that Fury is absolutely useless on any fight or phase of a fight that doesn’t have adds.

I don’t like calling out developers like this, but when your entire community is telling you, “We don’t like these changes” and you elect to ignore them, you give the impression that you don’t take your job as a game developer seriously.

It makes me think about how, when I used to read GameInformer many eons ago, the guy they forced to review Mario Party explicitly said in his reviews that he couldn’t stand the game and would rate it poorly…no consideration about its appeal to its target demographic, its technical design or art direction, etc. He didn’t like it, didn’t like being forced to play & review it - therefore it would get a bad critic score. I myself never bought those games but I can’t imagine being so unapologetically biased about a group of people and their hobby when I am in an influential position.

Whatever is going on with warrior is just like that…whoever has final say doesn’t like the class, and will not care what the community thinks or what others find fun.

You all understand by now that it is pointless to try and reason with Warrior devs. Think about starting to “Vote with your wallets”. These devs are just a “cog” in a money printing machine and if that machine will start performing as good as Fury warriors - people with real power in the company will quickly replace those “cogs”.

Disrespectfully, there’s absolutely no shot whoever is staring at logs and making changes based on them has no idea how this class actually functions and/or haven’t actually played fury in competitive content. I’ve joked about it for years, but these recent changes really drive it home.

The developers don’t play the game.

It feels to me like they don’t have a vision for the spec.

They just looked at the warcraft logs, saw Bladestorm and Odyns fury doing a lot of damage and nerfed them with absolutely zero regard for how the spec feels/functions while they do not have CD’s available - or how they feel to play in areas of the game outside a raid where adds spawn at the exact intervals their CDs come up again.

You’re telling me that the people who gave Warriors four (4) different AoE burst cooldowns, doesn’t know that most of their damage comes in the form of short duration AoE burst?

Because i’d believe you.
