Sorry I feel like a noob for asking this. I am leveling a mage to 60 PVP server with real life friends. I plan to focus on PVE content with a little bit of PVP. As a mage while leveling should I be spending my Linen and wool cloth on first aid or Tailoring for end game. I plan to not take main professions until 60 so it doesn’t slow me down but these are my option please help bellow.
Tailoring. You get free healing from your conjured food. And any left over mats from tailoring can be used for first aid if you still plan to do forst aid for a quick fix in pvp
Would I only focus on First Aid for pvp at 60?
Once ypu start getting into teir sets: yes. You wouldnt really need tailoring after that point.
First Aid is too useful not to have while leveling. You’ll get more benefits out of First Aid while leveling instead of Tailoring while leveling.
Worry about your primary professions at 60 when it’s easier to farm mats.

I will say: take your time levelong and do tailoring while your at it. Remember: Vanilla wow is a marathon. Not a sprint.
Biggest reason to prioritize tailoring: Bags.
Should be easy to do both. Especially as a mage and the aoe farm… will likely have cloth to spare

Both. You’re a mage. Grind humanoids and level both. 10 slot bags are going to be a huge boost for your friends and alts. Goes without saying first aid is going to save your dress while leveling.
I’m considering mage as one of my first alts for tailoring/enchanting and that sweet aoe grind. If you can find a spot. Going to be so many farmers again…
Unless healing class, always keep first aid up. Doesn’t take that much in way of resources and if you are tailor, you will be grinding mobs anyway.
CC then bandaging saves your life. First Aid is mandatory for everyone to have really. Healer run out of mana fast early then use bandages too. It great how important First Aid is in Classic. Bandaging someone in a dungeon literally might save their life.
The only real use for tailoring is to craft items that you can disenchant for mats to use in you enchanting profession. First aid is also kind of useless for a mage.

If playing on a PvE server by chance, does Tailoring become more important than First Aid while leveling? I obviously intend to have both maxed when 60 since I will be doing PvE content as a mage. First Aid can be pretty helpful to lighten the load on healers for raids. I just wanted to get peoples perspective in terms of leveling when being ganked is less likely of a thing to occur.
No it’s not.
When a mage is out of combat, you have conjured food.
In PVE there is a healer. If you need to bandage in PVE your group has got bigger problems than you not leveling first aid.
Let’s be honest here, you are a caster in a dress. If things go south you are going to survive by mobility and slowing whatever is trying to kill you. I struggle to think of a situation where a bandage is a better option than a health potion or continuing to either increase the distance between you and your enemy or trying like heck to blow it up. Bandages require you to stand still doing nothing else for what 5 seconds or is was it longer back then? My memory isn’t what it used to be.
I guess there are situations that I am not thinking of but, do they really happen so often to warrant leveling first aid? That cloth can either be sold or used in tailoring to feed your or an alts enchanting. Either option can be used to offset the cost of the health potions that are far more useful.
Level first aid with cloth as you level. Bandages will reduce your down time and save your life on occasion.
Once at 60 you can solo AoE run Deadmines, Stockades, etc. for WAY more cloth than you will ever need.
Take skinning for sure to level with… vendor skins and AH the hides. You will never have need of gold as you level. Drop it at 60.
A mage has conjured food to reduce downtime.
For Horde farming VC is a heck of a journey and Stockades is not really and option for farming.
