Resonating Arrow

I know there is only a week before shadowlands release but I would just like to ask blizzard to please consider tuning this ability down, the difference between a kyrian marksman and any other covenant is massive. 30% crit for 10 seconds is just insane compared to the other abilities. Blizzard, please dont make the choice to not go kyrian so painful.

Kyrian in general is overtuned because of the soulbinds. 50% of specs currently have kyrian as their bis covenant so u can expect some nerfs to it.

I understand pelagos is also just powerful for basically every spec. But I feel resonating arrow is more egregious because it’s a class ability that just outperforms the other by a large margin

I agree that there’s an issue, but I disagree that you need to put Kyrian down. Instead the other abilities should get their nerfs reverted. Necrolords got the damage cut in half, Venthyr got duration and proc chane nerfed into the ground - those should’ve been buffed instead.

This is the very issue that the majority of community predicted - Blizzard’s inability to properly balance the powers of an enormous amount of combinations of specs + covenants + soulbinds + conduits + legendaries, not to mention several gamemodes. They dug this very hole and jumped into it, all while everyone could see that they’re simply not capable of balancing this much variables.

Its been getting nerfed alot and its still bis for almost everyone. And its probably gonna stay that way till after sl is released.

Which is really problematic. Bepples pointed this out in another thread, tuning covenant things before release is one thing, but as soon as anyone has hit 60 (which will take only hours after release), any tuning to covenants at that point risks forcing people to change covenants and restart their entire progress. That’s going to seriously piss people off.

The fact that Kyrian is still so ridiculous after Pelegos got like triple-nerfed in the last patch is a really good example of why this entire SL system-blitz is a unpiloted freight train barreling at high speed towards a cliff while on fire. There’s just no possible way this works out well.

I was leaning Kyrian for the same reason, but it’s without a doubt going to be nerfed. Everyone should ignore which Covenant does the most DPS when making their decision, because it’s probably going to change.

Considering how awesome my DiD looks in that Venthyr set and knowing Kyrian will get hammered, I’m going team flayed shot.

Kyrian easy choice. Best zone with currently the best ability. I even like the armor and wings the best as well. If it does get nerfed, it will still be completely viable and allows you shoot enemies THROUGH WALLS! #TeamKyrian

I LOVE Flayed Shot the most mechanically but Kyrian has all the other perks in the armor, zone, and aesthetics. I just wish I liked Resonating Arrow more

Well the aesthetics are subjective. I personally cannot stand Kyrian armor on my hunter nor do I care for that mount. I still think resonating arrow will get nerfed or at least we’ll see competition tighten more from the other covenants.

Either way I only raid heroic so I could care less is flayed isn’t BiS.

lots of great perspectives here, I’m happy to see pelagos get changed but the change they gave him is just…sad, they need to look at it again.

Im leaning night fae as of this very moment, I want to optimize for mythic+ and pick up pvp conduits and legendaries later.

The pelagos change, where we get magic dmg taken decrease over verse, is still really good for pvp imo.

I mean, even nerfed as he was, he’s still the recommend pick, and Kyrian is still the recommended covenant. Most soulbinds don’t give 2 DPS traits if you take the Potency pathway, and Pelagos did regardless of pathway.

Personally, I’m just glad that Night Fae is now close enough to Kyrian that it can be one of those “If you’re not world-firsting or pushing for the MDI or AWC, use whichever” type of things. I much prefer the Night Fae aesthetic, theme, and general ability (the Soulshape collectors game is amazing).

Didn’t Moofy on WoWhead say in the lastest MM guide that with the nerf Kyrian and Nightfae are pretty much neck and neck though?

Ish. They are very close. Kyrian still wins in single target, especially single target burst, due to how well Double Tap and Resonating Arrow synergize, with the same CD on each. Night Fae wins on AoE. They’re close enough that you could go either one unless you’re focused on the absolute maximum throughput possible in single target, which only those at the very very tippy top of progression should even think about bothering with.

I did in fact note that in my post immediately thereafter, though:

Wild Spirit Evoke the energy of Wild Spirits at the target location, dealing (25% of Attack power) Nature damage and apply Hunter’s Mark to all enemy targets within the area for 15 sec.
While the Wild Spirits are active, each damaging ability you or your pet use against a target in the area will strike up to 5 nearby targets for (35%38.5% of Attack power) Nature damage.

Ok, now Night Fae is ahead.

LOL, if NIght Fae comes ahead for single target then it’s BiS for all situations, and we’re back in the same spot of having one convenant being completely dominant.

I’m personally happy with that. If one is best for all cases that makes it easy for me. But I get most people don’t want to be forced into a covenant they don’t like.

I agree, but at this point it seems like the difference between Night Fae and Kyrian isn’t that much for hunters, so you could probably chose either be fine in most cases. But if you want to be an edgelord, seems like you’re going to be struggling to keep up.

Eh, the vampires are complete tools anyway. I say we transport the lot of them to Tanaris and let them rot in the sunlight. =P
