Bug Report
Issue: The druid venthyr covenant conduit Endless Thirst conduit is not working as intended.
Probable Cause: Developer has not yet implemented the functionality for the conduit yet.
Test for probable cause:
This is a stepwise description for the tests done to arrive at the probable cause.
Tools used in testing : Elvui and Weakauras.
Reasoning for using the tools:
-Elvui allows tester to check spell blacklist to find any accidentally
blacklisted auras.
-Weakauras allows tester to track specific auras
Pretest Prepwork that was done:
-Enable Elvui Buff and Debuff trackers.
-Created 2 weakauras one test and the other control. First one, the test weakaura has a
trigger that tracks the cool down on the aura named Endless thirst.
The second weakaura is a duplicate the first weakaura, with the name of the spell in the
trigger changed to Starlord
-Make sure the weakauras are clear and visible and review the load conditions.
Test1: Initiate combat with the first boss in Mists of Tirna Scythe, Ingra Maloch.
Use the spells Moonfire and Sunfire on the boss and then Celestial
Alignment and Ravenous frenzy in the respective order.
Search for Endless Thirst buff in the elvui buff and debuff trackers as well as the
weakaura created for tracking it .
Test 1 Result: Buff not found in Elvui Buffs. Weakaura not showing (not working as
intended).
Test 2: Make sure the weak aura is correct by making sure the control weakaura is working
as intended
Use a Starsurge on an enemy unit, and see if star lord buff is being
tracked by the modified weakaura.
Test Result: Starlord is being tracked. Weakaura shows the remaining duration.
Test 3: Check Elvui buff blacklists for a spell named endless thirst.
Test Result: No buff with the name Endless Thirst has been found
Testing Conclusion:
With the testing that’s been done above, it is evident that the buff does not exist in the game currently. As to why this may be the case is for the developer to evaluate. One hypothesis maybe that the functionality has not yet been implemented. Another cause maybe that there is something conflicting in the implementation of the conduit Endless Thirst which is causing the buff to not manifest on the player character.
Conclusion:
The druid venthyr conduit Endless Thirst is not working. Currently even though the conduit is equipped, the behavior of the conduit is such that the slot is actually empty. This is a really important issue since it prevents players (me) from playing a class and spec since it is missing a critical component that adds to a character’s dps/hps/tankability. Therefore affecting the playability, experience and freedom of covenant choice of the player.
Personal Remarks:
I’m uncertain as to whether this issue has been brought to light since the game has been released on 23rd of November and there are still elements of it that are not even working let alone working properly. As of now, its been about 3 hours since I started testing and compiled this report. I hope that this post gets attention.
I want the developer to know that it is appalling to discover this bug by a AAA developer backed by a billion dollar company. I do not intend to complain but actually help the developer in whatever way I can, which is why I tested rigorously for hours before writing this report and bringing it to your attention. But having said that, the game is literally unfinished, irrespective of how minor it may be. And the developers are getting ready to release 9.1 which is laughable. I can only wait to see what new problems 9.1 brings, given that my spec can’t even play a covenant.
Needless to say I’m a dissatisfied customer, but someone who cares for the game’s well being and therefore, yet another free tester (No really, I literally was worried about the post being long and the mods not reading it, so I took the time to even make it readable and pleasant so devs can process it faster) . Please fix! TY! Billion dollar Indie company LMAO.

JK, I really appreciate the effort you guys are putting in working from home during these stressful times, and its an undesirable situation really to be blamed for given work flows may be all messed up and I can understand that to a certain extent. But everyone has been doing so in a similar fashion, and I would like to come back home to a pleasant wow experience after a rough day just like you guys. So, with all due respect please don’t use that as an excuse for lazy work and ruin all our experiences. Thank You! I hope you find this well and nothing personal.
Followup:
The conduit is working as intended. Here are the details as to how I’ve arrived at this conclusion. There’s a bit of calculation involved but I think i’ve done a pretty good job of explaining it.
Firstly I assumed that since the buff can’t be tracked, surely if the conduit is working as intended, the dmg numbers should definitely show this in action. Now the conduit gives 1.2% crit per stack of ravenous frenzy. Since the conduit gives 1.2% of crit per stack gained in ravenous frenzy. To translate the stacks to a flat amount of crit, we average the total critital strike rating gained over 20 seconds.
For someone who doesn’t understand this terminology, here’s a simpler problem to look at. Skip this if you understood why we are averaging. Now assume you’re eating 10 skittles every second ( the number 10 can really be anything) . But in those 10 skittles there are a very specific number of the red ones such that, in the
first second you eat a group of 10 skittles of which 1 is red skittle.
2nd second you eat a group of 10 skittles of which there are 2 red skittles
3rd second you eat a group of 10 skittles of which there are 3 red skittles.
so on and so forth. Now translating the crit% to red skittle% we are trying to answer on average how many red skittles you were eating per second.
to calculate this we do (1+2+3…+20 ) / 20. A simple arithmetic average.
(honestly have no idea why you would even eat so many skittles you weirdo)
So now that we’re on the same page, stacks are nothing but an increasing arithmetic sequence ( the complicated word means stacks are nothing but 1, 1+1, 1+1+1, 1+1+1+1… on a time interval. Goes till 20 just like our skittles problem also have you checked your blood sugars yet? you might wanna do that!!) we can actually calculate the sum of the sequence and get a flat crit% that the sequence sums up to over the duration of ravenous frenzy. For the math nerds out there, here’s the calculation.
Calculation of crit %
Total number of stacks over 20 seconds = 1+2+3+4+5…20 = 210
Crit % per stack = 1.2%
Total crit % = 210*1.2 = 252
Average crit gained in 20 seconds = 252/20 = 12.6%
crit% of any spell during cooldowns = 12.6+15 = 27.6% = 28% or 27%
(not sure whether game rounds up or down… )
Now when i tested the dmg of moonfire over 20 seconds in details, I got a varying bunch of results around the number 28. The tests had crit percentages from 18% - 38%. This variance can be attributed to small sample size and here’s why.
The fact that moonfire only ticks for 17 times in the duration of 20 seconds. This can be seen in details as number of hits. Which means that each test gives us only 17 samples to work with. Why this matters for someone in a non statistical background is that, smaller samples usually don’t mean anything. Statistics is based around law of large numbers. So like the crit% that you have is only applicable over (this is all paper math here don’t quote me on these numbers, just giving an example) 30,000 hits or more. This is about the number of hits you do over a 5 minute encounter.
I’ve gone through all this trouble because of a certain specific video on YT that claims the conduit is not working properly, so I got curious. Sorry for the long post. Conduit works as intended.
