Residual memories currency gain are weak

its roughgly 41k residuals to get a full set of 480 gear.

Surely this was properly looked at first?

The gains are weak and you either end up in a version where everything is dead in 30 seconds outside of farming post boss kill OR there is like 3 people.

Its sad for me to say but i dont know that i want to play this prepatch.
It just seems like far too much effort. None of it seems fun.
It just seems like actual work.

pretty sure this is going to get patched.

they probably intended 10 to 50 per mob, not 1-5

You would hope so if thats the case

There are 3 weeklies you do for 1500 memories each, plus the 500 memories from the boss you kill itself and all the other side objectives up to the boss spawning. If you don’t want to grind then don’t but the grind is there for people who want to do it.

im not grinding for 1 currency per kill.

That would take ages!

The zone I was in cleared all 7 events and the final boss in ~3 minutes, I was able to go do the superbloom immediately after we finished

Also, assuming you’re hitting all 112 potential events for the next 7 days and doing that on a character who is eligible for the weekly you’d still have only racked up 224000 of the memories. (38 characters)

Even with those numbers you cant grind enough to get the 20k mount, plus gear, plus pets, plus on alts. With 1.5 hours between each boss, this is a garbage take…

If you don’t want to grind, it would take literally dozens of these events to earn anything.

The gains need to be tripled at least. 5x or 10x would be more reasonable.

Waiting 1.5 hours for 3-6 mins of content is nuts.

Looking back I’m laughing at myself for thinking I would be able to level up four or five alts in this event and gear them up.

I thought with warbands they were going to have a more focused alt meta. But sheesh this event points the opposite direction.

I need 50k for everything I want and I don’t see how to get it. Currency gains need to be massively buffed. Not everyone can sit at their computer all day hoping to catch every event.

Have not done a full event yet. Just went to the remnants of one and killed some mobs while waiting for a new one to spawn. Not much impressed so far. Kind of bland. Like the coloration of the mobs I am fighting. Bleached out and meh.

Will update if the real think actually provides any entertainment.

P.S. The mob kill reward does seem REALLY meager. If I grind for half and hour and cannot scrape together enough to buy a single reward I am going to be ticked.

Edit : OK, did one of the events… and it was pretty awful. I see now why the individual mobs provide so little currency for killing one. If flat out, mindless grinding were in any way close to producing the kind of currency you get for doing one event no one would participate in the event. With 50-100 people gathered around to gang a mob the second it arrives I spent most of my time waiting for something to happen after pushing a button.

This is BS, I’m sorry to the people that like “The Grind” but 2k-8k for a single piece of Gear when one 1 drops per enemy kill, 5 with elites is ridiculous… and 1.5hours between bosses is insane…this was terrible design, it was terrible design in the BETA & we told them so but it made it’s way to Production…cause screw listening to the people testing this BS.

There’s no way that they don’t buff this like they buffed bronze gain with Timerunning.

It really is befuddling that something like this happened again after that debacle, though. Maybe they expect people to hyperspawn farm these and balanced around that? If so, that would be hilarious.

I am guessing they want to push people to participate in their “cool event” for the first few days, maybe a week. After that they will likely relent and buff the individual rewards to let people grind out the same rewards the spazes got in the first week.

Doing the three weekly ( I assume ) quests takes about 15 minutes and gives you around 6500.

It’s not great content or a lot of fun, but for about an hours worth of work over the course of a month you will get 26000 per toon.

Sometimes we’re not meant to get it all, we have to choose what we want most. And sometimes it’s not instant gratification, you have to chip away at it.
