Reshade Presets

I’m assuming this is allowed in Classic? If it’s not please advise

If it is and you’re using it, share your presets before/after! Looking to sharpen the visuals up and add a tad more bloom.

Thanks!

Reshade is a program that enhances graphics in a game. It used to be used in pubg all the time.

Ah ok. Thanks for responding.

Unsure if you will be able to determine if it is allowed.

Probably only way to really know is ask a GM directly or just try it and see if Warden flags you eventually. However, GMs and Support typically won’t say if something is allowed or not until it is abused.

There wouldn’t be much cheating potential in rewriting shaders for Classic wow compared to other games. But if Warden sees your assets in memory don’t match the server side reference then there is a good chance it will flag you.

EDIT: A brief google search shows most people think it is banable… But I didn’t see a blue post.

However there are some post on Reshade forums saying it does NOT work with wow because blizzard specifically blocked it. Probably system wide to stop it being used on games like Overwatch where it could definitely be used as a cheat.

Reshade is just a extra layer on top of Direct X. You load Reshade instead of that and it does post processing of each frame. It doesn’t change any assets it’s just a set of filters applied to what gets displayed.

Typically the point where it injects will modify the games own shaders. Depending how the game has implemented its own pipeline, deferred or immediate etc…, then reshade won’t have a light touch.

Good example is Reshade itself attempts to disable its own ‘depth buffer’ operations for multiplayer games in an attempt to assuage some fears of cheating.

Honestly for WoW, there isn’t much you could cheat with a graphics mod.

Well if you ask me about my presets, i lean towards of making my games more colorful. Currently using it on a few games atm, especially a couple of games from 2008 and 2013. (where Brown Filters and Drab color palate ruled the world)

But No, Reshade isn’t allowed on WoW.

Hopefully this isn’t too late for you to see.

The latest NVidia drivers enable the use of select Reshade shaders in any game, through the Freestyle feature. They disable the access to depth buffers, to ensure that one cannot cheat using the feature (wall hack requirement.)

To use it, go into Geforce Experience, and then settings -> enable experimental features. Then download (link below) and move the shaders into the Ansel folder. Then, while in game, hit Alt-F3 to pull up the overlay.
