Before patch 9.0.2 there was an button labeled “Reset User Options” at the bottom of the options panel under Menu -> System at the character select screen. It is now missing. I am assuming it is a bug as the panel now appears transparent and exactly the same as the “in game” system options panel once you log in to your character.
Wouldn’t this be the same as the Recommended button? Or am I incorrect?
Hello, the recommended button does not accomplish the same thing. If you clicked “reset user options” previously it would pin red text to the top of your screen saying something along the lines of “your user options will be reset upon next login” (logging into a specific toon). It would reset your character settings such as the map tracking settings + others, which the recommended button does not seem to do. Not a big deal but curious as to why it was removed, which makes it seem more likely a bug to me.

So looks like it’s still around, just hidden in the launcher. Could be a bug, or maybe it was intentional (maybe people kept hitting it accidentally in-game, thinking what I thought: that it would just reset graphical settings and the like). Good catch, though!
